Chapter 5: Unexplained Roar

1109 Words
Erick follows his friend's gaze and comes across a girl who is very thin, so much so that it gives the impression that if someone hugs her tightly, she will break in half. Her golden hair is dull and lifeless, her green eyes are sunken and shadowed, she is small, and the clothes don't help; it looked like three of her could fit in the old dress. But even so, Erick didn't quite know why she was beautiful, fragile, and beautiful. He composes himself and whispers to his friend: “Whatever happened to her, you'd better fix your expression or you'll scare her.” Joshua nods and smiles as he runs towards his sister, who throws her thin arms around his neck, giving a smile so beautiful that Erick felt it lit up the station. Erick lightly shakes his head and thinks, “What on earth am I doing? She's nothing but a weakling, just like or worse than your mate, and Joshua would kill him if he got near his sister.” “She's bleeding,” Kairon says, sounding bothered, and he feels that Tron is also agitated. Joshua holds his sister tightly in his arms and raises his eyebrows when she lets out a groan. “What is it?” he asks. “Nothing, I'm just sore from the journey,” Eduarda replies. “What happened to you while I was away? Have you taken up some crazy diet?” Joshua says, caressing his sister's face. “More or less,” Eduarda says with a shy smile. Joshua steps away from Eduarda to hug his uncle, and it is then that she feels as if her stomach is full of butterflies, and her eyes see him for the first time. He was tall, with a defined body, with a face so beautiful it seemed to have been sculpted in the finest details, his eyes as black as a stormy night, framed by long eyelashes and thick eyebrows, and black hair that rebelliously insisted on falling over his forehead. When their eyes met, she felt a shiver run down her spine and quickly looked away. For some reason, the fact that she seemed afraid of him irritated Erick. Looking at her clothes, he says to Joshua through the mental link: “You should do something about her, like take her to buy clothes that fit her, wash her hair, those kinds of things women do.” “What?” Joshua asks, not understanding what Erick was getting at. “If you let her show up like that, she'll be the first target to be eliminated,” Erick explains. Realizing what Erick meant, Joshua tells his uncle to take the others to the hotel, as he would take Eduarda to buy some things. The uncle, understanding the situation, promptly agreed, but Gaby, not willing to lose sight of Eduarda, says: "I'm in need of a few things too, can I go?" Erick and Joshua notice the hopeful look Eduarda gives to Gaby, Joshua analyzes the boy with new interest, while Erick feels like tearing off those ridiculous curls of his. “I would like to go too,” says Betany, not wanting to be left behind. “Well, then Trevan and I will go to the hotel,” says Pedro with a look that wished Joshua good luck and asks, “Prince Erick, are you joining us?” Erick really wanted to avoid the bleached Barbie Girl, but Tron was urging him to go along. Eduarda shudders when she realizes that the most handsome man she's ever seen is the Monster Prince. Erick notices her reaction and once again feels irritated that she is afraid of him. “I'll join the shopping group,” he replies, much to Betany's delight, who doesn't hide her enthusiasm. “Dude, I'm taking Eduarda to a salon for a princess day. Are you sure you want to come?” Joshua says to Gaby, who nods. “As if that would help,” Trevan murmurs, heading towards the car, but before Joshua can do anything, a stone hits Trevan's nape with full force. Everyone looks around to see where it came from, but Joshua is sure it was Erick because of his perfect aim. They all head to a shopping center not far from there, Joshua arm in arm with his sister, Gaby on the other side of her, leaving Erick to walk beside the irritating blonde. They stop at a salon, and although Eduarda is somewhat reluctant, she gives in to her brother's pleas. Betany acts like a queen, trying to draw all the attention. Eduarda is taken by a polite and gentle attendant after promising Joshua that she will receive the full treatment. The three men sit in a waiting room, which is a very amusing sight. Joshua is the first to speak: “Are you close to my sister?” he asks Gaby. “She doesn't let anyone get too close, but I like to think I am,” Gaby replies. Erick is getting more and more irritated with Gaby's golden curls. "Are you by any chance her partner?" Joshua asks, straight as always, and both he and Gaby are startled by the growl that comes from Erick. “What's wrong?” Joshua asks, on alert. “Sorry, the beasts are a bit irritated today,” Erick replies, referring to his inner animals. Joshua nods and turns to Gaby, waiting for an answer. “It would be an honor, but I think she's not ready to meet her mate yet,” Gaby says. “What the hell kind of answer is that?” Erick asks, even more irritated. “Exactly,” Joshua agrees. With an enigmatic smile at Erick, Gaby responds: “I meant that if she wants me like that, she'll have me.” “Only over her mate's dead body, I suppose,” Erick says and turns his attention back to the street. An hour later, Betany returns, saying that since she was beautiful, there wasn't much to do, making the three men roll their eyes. Half an hour later, Eduarda appears, shy and insecure, her previously dull and lifeless hair now shining in a vibrant gold, and her face also seemed clearer, with lighter under-eye circles. “Alright,” Joshua says after paying for his sister's treatment, “let's move on to the clothes now.” The attendant clears her throat and says, addressing Betany: “Sorry, ma'am, the p*****t for your procedures hasn't been made yet.” Betany, disappointed, takes out a card and says: “Oh, of course, you can put it on this card.”
