Chapter 6: Who Did This to You?

1036 Words
They head to the fanciest store they can find, and Eduarda tries to say that she doesn't need much, but Joshua insists on a complete wardrobe, says she doesn't need to try everything on, but tells the saleswomen that his sister needs a complete wardrobe for all occasions for a year. When Eduarda tries to protest, he explains that with the gym stuff, it's very difficult for them to go out shopping. “But it's going to be very expensive,” says Eduarda. “You talk as if we don't have money, little sis. I've been managing well the money that mom and dad left us, and even if you bought the store, we'd still be rich, don't worry. Now why don't you try on this dress,” he says, handing her a pink dress he noticed her looking at. Eduarda takes the dress and enters the fitting room. Erick turns to Gaby and teases: “Didn't you say you needed some things?” he asks sarcastically. “I think I already have everything I need,” says Gaby, raising his eyebrows equally sarcastically. At this point, Betany, who can't hold back her envy any longer, enters the fitting room under the pretense of helping Eduarda. Eduarda was in her panties and bra, looking at herself in the mirror, when Betany grabs her by the hair, but to both of their horror, Eduarda stumbles and falls, taking the fitting room curtain with her, exposing herself to the eyes of the three men and the saleswoman waiting outside. "Oh my God," exclaims the horrified saleswoman when Eduarda stands up, exposing her body full of bruises and scars. Eduarda tries to return to the fitting room, which worsens the situation as it reveals her back, which has not yet healed from the last whipping she received. "What the hell is this?" Erick's voice resonates like a furious thunder, making Eduarda shrink in fear. Gaby quickly grabs a towel that was for sale and hands it to Eduarda, who covers herself. Joshua seems to be in shock, tears streaming down his face without him even realizing. “Who did this to you?” Erick roars, getting closer to losing control. Gaby, seeing that the situation was going to get worse, says to the saleswoman: “Please, wrap up everything that was bought and send it to the hotel that Joshua here will specify and settle the bill,” he says, pushing Joshua towards the saleswoman. Joshua casts another glance in his sister's direction and follows the saleswoman to the register. Gaby turns to Erick and says: “You're frightening her.” Erick runs his hands through his hair and takes a deep breath, and that's when his gaze falls on Betany. Betany stands pale in a corner, trying to catch Eduarda's attention. A suspicion arises that she has something to do with Eduarda's injuries, which only worsens when she says: “I think the outing is over, I'm going back to the hotel.” Erick puts all his Alpha power into his voice and says: “You're not going anywhere, Ken's girlfriend, you're going to wait for us and help Eduarda explain this story properly.” Betany stands frozen in place, and Eduarda hurries to put on one of her new outfits, a pair of jeans and a long-sleeved shirt. They leave the store with Joshua holding onto Eduarda as if afraid she might disappear if he let go. Everyone follows Erick, who, to Betany's despair, heads to the nearest forest, the silence heavy among the group. Once out of human sight, Erick gives in to his anger and strikes a tree, which flies about three meters away like a twig and falls. With his wolf's blood-red eyes, he turns and says: “Now you two are going to explain what's going on here.” Betany, realizing she's in great danger, is the first to speak: “I don't know, I went into the fitting room to help her, but when I saw the wound marks, I got scared, then she fell, and you know the rest.” “Dear, I need you to trust me, I need you to tell me who did this to you, please Duda,” says Joshua, squeezing his sister's hand in his. At that moment, almost imperceptibly, Eduarda looks at Betany, but Erick catches the movement. He uses his alpha tone: “Was it you?” he asks Betany. She takes a few steps back, trying to avoid answering the question, but Erick is too powerful for her to resist. "I didn't do it alone, my mother..." Erick didn't let her finish the sentence. Confused about why it was affecting him so much, he allows his most bloodthirsty beast to take over. His clothes tear, his body transforms, and the most powerful Lycan in the world, Kairon, emerges before them. Betany tries to run, but in milliseconds, Kairon already has one of his hands around her neck. Gaby appears to relish the scene and is unwilling to interfere on Betany's behalf. Joshua wants to transform himself and tear Betany apart, and then hunt down her mother. But the most surprising reaction is Eduarda's, who instead of being afraid of Erick in the form of Kairon, feels attracted to him, and for the second time in her life, feels the presence of her wolf, who struggles to break free. She takes three steps towards Erick, and Joshua, horrified, tries to stop her along with Gaby, as standing between a Lycan and its prey meant death. Betany, lifted off the ground by Erick's grip, feels she is going to die, struggles desperately to free herself from Erick's grip, but nothing she does seems to have any effect on him, and at that moment she wishes she had never in her life touched Eduarda, feels her life slipping away when something surprising happens. She watches Eduarda approach the beast, seemingly entranced, Joshua and Gaby unsuccessfully try to stop her, and the next thing Eduarda does leaves everyone there surprised and terrified for the young woman's life. Betany collapses to the ground, nearly lifeless, as the beast releases her and turns its attention to the daring Eduarda.
