Word travels fast in this town.
Even faster when people know your life used to look perfect, and they’re just waiting to see it crash.
So when whispers of David’s downfall reached me, they spread like wildfire through the hospital halls, staff lounges, even the goddamn cafeteria. Everyone knew.
I savored it.
David had refused to leave the house. Our house. The same one we picked out together and filled with memories, good and bad. After the judge granted me everything, he tried to dig in like a parasite.
