"Are you...am I..." I stare at him in shock, not able to form a complete sentence.
"Are you asking me if you're dead?" I nod and he smiles, scooping me up into his arms. "No, not yet anyway."
He carries me out of the room that we're in and past the gunfire still sounding all around us. Is he really here? Is he alive? I can't take my eyes off of him. He feels so real, I can even feel his heart beating against me.
No, this can't be happening. Has he been alive all this time?
"What's going on?" I finally ask.
He doesn't answer at first, just keeps walking. I don't know where we're going, but I don't hear the gunfire any longer. As a matter of fact, I don't hear anything. I don't see anything except for him and the bright, white light that surrounds us. "Cal is mess
