Ares' Discovery

I awoke at sunrise with my Ares beside me and my heart raced when I remembered how we had fallen asleep together.  I transformed myself back to my human form, but I remained lying beside him and buried my face in the fur at the ruff of his neck as I slung my arm around him.  He was fast asleep, and his body rose and fell beneath me as he breathed in the sort of slow, steady rhythm that made me sure he wasn't going to wake up any time soon.  I should probably have woken him, but I was happy to stay there like that all day and the smell of our scents combined with the fresh dew on the grass around us was calming and serene.
