I Can't Give You Answers

"What have you done to her"

"Boss I didn't do anything to her you have to believe me"

"Oh really? you want me to believe you?... What did you do to her now tell me"

" Yes I didn't do anything to her she is just sleeping she will soon wake up"

" Oh I see... wake up indeed when she has been like this for nearly 9 hours? Can't you see how shallow her breath is?"

"Nothing happened to her Boss you just have to trust me on this. She was yelling and wailing profusely late that night before she finally stopped so I didn't suspect anything was wrong I just thought she stopped because she was tired from crying and so fell asleep."

"Are you sure that's what actually happened?"

"What are you all saying. Where is my daughter? what did you do to do her? Somebody please talk to me"

This were the things I was hearing when I when I woke up.

"Where am I? what am I doing here? Where is my Daddy and Aunt Mena? Who is here please somebody help me I can't see" I said struggling to stand up from my seat

"Oh Amanda stay calm. Are you ok? Don't worry you will be fine Daddy is here ok?" A voice I recognized was Dad's said

" Keep quiet man! You are disturbing us. I don't want to hear you utter a word again" A voice warned sternly

"Leave my Daddy alone. He hasn't done anything to deserve this. I will be fine Ok Dad" I replied confidently

"Ok dear. Stay strong I will be fine" Dad said

" I said shut up or else I'll deal with you" A voice thundered then a loud sound followed

"what have I done to you to deserve this from you?" Dad said, groaning

"How dare you question my authority? Are you out of you senses? I know you want an answer so now wait and listen as my boys give you the reply. Boys come and teach him a lesson he won't ever forget in a hurry" The man retorted and I began to hear sounds of people approaching then shortly I began to hear loud moans of anguish and pain emanating from Dad's direction

"Please stop you are hurting me. I'm begging you please stop you are hurting me badly" A voice I knew was Dad said pleadingly amidst loud groans

"Leave my Daddy alone he has done nothing to you scumbag or else you will face my wrath" I yelled wriggling on my chair while Dad kept moaning in pain

" What did you say? I'm not sure I heard you well" A voice that instructed them earlier on said in a croaky voice

"I said what I said and I will say that again if you don't leave my Daddy alone" I said confidently

" Boss allow us deal with her as well. She is trying to be a stubborn little brat" One of the men said all irked

" No Jack that won't be necessary. Leave her to me. I know how to handle her" The man said as I heard footsteps approaching my direction

"And are you threatening me in someway?" The man asked standing in close proximity to me as I could feel his breaths on my face

" I do not know what you are talking about" I said, heaving a sigh

"Well I will give you benefit of doubt and assume you never said a thing like that or better still speak" He said and stood up

" Who are you and what do you want us from us? or Please let us go we haven't done anything to deserve any of this." I said pleadingly

"Inasmuch as I can't answer any of your questions, I will make them stop beating your Dad" He said stealthily

" Alright guys stop it's ok. Now man you have your daughter to thank me for if not you will be in hell right now ask my boys they know what happens when I'm so very upset" He added and I began to hear his footsteps as he walked away

"Daddy are you alright? Does it hurt? I'm sorry" I replied quickly

"I'm fine Ok? Don't worry I will be fine" Dad said reassuringly

" Ok Dad" I sighed and began to wriggle again on my chair

"Stop that are you insane" A voice barked

"Just let us go I want to go home please. I'm begging you" I said paying deaf ears to what he was saying as I kept wriggling on the chair in an attempt to free myself from the chair

"Keep quiet and behave yourselves or else I will help you do the needful" Another voice roared

" Easy Jack let them be" The voice I suppose to be the boss's said and everyone fell silent

"Alright Boss" Another voice said calmly

Just as I was about speaking again, I heard a phone start ringing

"Now the big Boss is calling and I want you all to behave yourselves. I hope you are all heard me right" The voice commanded then picked up the phone

"Hey good day Sir"

"We are thriving sir"

"They are all right here sir. Do you want them to come over?"

" Yeah. Everything is still intact sir. I suppose you still need them"

" They can deliver it right away to you"

" Later in the day?"

"They will come now"

"Ok sir" He said and an awkward silence fell back into the room

" Please Jack and umm... you come over. I want you guys to help me deliver a package to Boss" The voice added and I began to hear footsteps walking away then I heard the door shut behind them

"Are they gone now Dad?" I asked listening raptly to hear if there was any of the men still around.

"I suppose they are all gone now" Dad said

" Ok Dad. How are you feeling now are you alright. Does your body ache? " I asked softly letting out a sigh

" Yes it does but I will be fine my dear" Dad muttered and winced in pain

"I'm sorry Dad. I wish I could something to help you feel better" I said

"It's ok Amanda I'm fine ok. I'm sorry I got you into all of this trouble and worst of it all I can't do anything to savage you from this circumstance" Dad said apologetically

" It's okay Dad. I'm fine besides this isn't the end of us so I will just stay strong for us" I replied with a weak smile

"Even though nothing can justify the fact that I failed woefully to protect you when I was supposed to I'm still proud of you for your understanding always know that I love you and will always love you no matter what" Dad said in sober tone

"Oh no Dad I love you more"I said

"But Dad who are those men and what to they want from us?" I asked

"I don't know but I'm sure it's all related to what you saw in the sitting room earlier on yesterday" Dad replied

"Hmmm will they set us free at the end?" I asked

"That is what I don't know a thing about my regret is why I dragged you into this mess. Like if I hadn't taken you alongside myself to the station all of these maybe wouldn't be happening.. Only God knows what they want from me. I don't even have the faintest idea about what they want from us or when we will be released from their hostage. I'm just tired of everything here" Dad complained bitterly

" I cannot say for sure but I know we will released soon Dad just have some faith" I said soothingly
