As we got to the hospital drugstore, Dad parked just close enough by the drugstore and we both got down from the car and headed for the store with me clinging tightly to Dad's right hand.
We got in, we saw a few more people who had also come to get drugs waiting patiently on the queue so we also joined them.
"Good day Sir" A woman in front of us with a little baby strapped to herself greeted as she turned backwards.
"Morning ma'am" Dad replied absentmindedly
"Good morning ma'am" I greeted flashing her a smile
"Omg! Baby girl what happened to your face?" She asked with concern written all over her face
"Umm… she had a little accident and bumped into the wall in the process" Dad said
"Oh sorry my dear" The woman said
"Thank you ma" I replied
"You're welcome dear. Just be a little more careful next time ok?" She added
"Yes ma" I said
"That's good" she said then faced her front since it will soon get to her turn.
Shortly after it got to her turn then she walked over to the counter to get her drugs and walked out of the drugstore.
"please can you get us these drugs?" Dad said handing the piece of paper to the salesperson as we got to the counter after waiting in the queue till it got to our turn.
"Sure Sir. Just give me a minute let me go get them" She replied with a smile
"How are you feeling now?" Dad asked giving me a cursory look while the salesperson walked away to get the drugs
"Better now I guess" t said softly
"Does it still hurt?" Dad asked
" Yeah a lit…" I made to speak but fit interrupted by the salesperson
" Here sir" she said placing the drugs on the counter
"Okay. Thank you" Dad said looking up at the counter
"You're welcome sir and here is also your bill" She added handing Dad a piece of paper
"Oh" Dad said and collected the piece of paper
"Here, for your payment" Dad said handing her some bank notes after pulling out some cripsy bank notes.
"Thank you sir" She replied after collecting the notes and with that we walked out of the drugstore and headed for the car.
"Man! I'm tired already" Dad yelled as we got into the car
"Well that's because you're a lazy man" I said sarcastically
"But you aren't strong either" Dad sneered
" Well to burst your bubbles I am strong because I'm a supergirl" I retorted
"Eww! Says who?" Dad asked laughing hysterically
"Says me!" I said
"You got to be kidding me right?!" Dad asked as he bursted into another round of laughter
"Well I'm not and you can ask Aunt Mena as well when we get home" I replied softly though quite irritated by the laughter
"Fine I accept. Happy now?" Dad said as he stopped laughing
"A little better" I replied
"I just wish you could drive so I can sleep for some minutes" Dad said as he started the car
"Of course I can drive Dad" I said with a giggle
"Really?" Dad asked
"Yeah. I drive for Uber Dad" I replied
"I see but I'm not yet ready to die yet Uber driver." Dad said
" I don't kill passengers Dad" I said
"I didn't say you kill your passengers ma" Dad said as he drove into the street
" Well that's better. I can drive even better than you" I boasted while Dad just snorted.
"I see. Fine you win once again" Dad said taking off his hands from the wheels and raising it up to signify his surrender.
"Woah! I won again" I shouted in delight
"Hey hey! Not so fast darling. Don't celebrate yet. The battle isn't yet over so chill" Dad retorted with a grin
" Huh" I muttered
"Yeah you heard me right ma'am" Dad replied
"Ok sir. Just do me a favor and turn on the stereo" I said softly
"Stereo?" Dad asked staring into the rear mirror
"Yeah stereo" I replied
"Whats stereo miss?" Dad asked
"Just play some music Dad. I'm bored " I said
"Hey, you wanted some music right? Why did you then ask me to turn on the stereo?" Dad asked peering intently into the rear mirror
"I told you to do so because it's the stereo that plays music Dad" I said a bit irked
"Well I guess I never knew that" Dad said feigning ignorance as he focused on the road
"What? You don't know what a stereo does? You got to be kidding me Dad" I blurted out, perplexed
" Yeah to be honest, I didn't except a few minutes ago. Any thing wrong with that? " Dad asked with a furrowed brow
"Dad stop it already I'm getting pissed off" I half yelled
"Hey what? Amanda" Dad asked hitting the break pedal slowly as we got to the traffic.
"Nothing Dad, just get the speakers blasting with music already" I yelled
" Oh sorry Miss. I guess I totally forgot about your request" Dad said as he fondled with the numerous buttons on the dashboard
"And yeah guess what girl?" Dad asked still fondling with the buttons on the dashboard
"What Dad?" I asked absentmindedly
"I said guess" Dad said giggling
"I can't guess then, you just go ahead and tell me what it is" I replied
"Oops ...well seems like she isn't interested" Dad muttered sorrowfully
"Go on tell me what is it Dad" I said
"I said guess first" Dad replied
"Well fine… You got promoted at work!" I said thinking out loud
"No you're wrong. Try again" Dad said
"Well I can't again Dad just tell me already" I said getting worked up
" Fine. I've got you a couple of blues for you" Dad announced
" Really?” I asked happily
"Yeah " he replied
"And to prove to you that I'm serious, I'll play one right now for you" Dad added with a smirk
"Wow. I can't wait Dad" I replied then suddenly the speakers began to blast with soft music while I nodded my head in pleasure, tapping on my feet.
The road became clear again after some minutes as the traffic eased up a bit and vehicles began to move on to their destinations.
"Finally we can go ahead with our journey back home now" Dad muttered as the music kept blasting softly from the speakers while he drove away after peering intently at the road through his windshield glass.
