"People cry, not because they're weak. It's because they've been strong for too long."
~ Johnny Depp
Chapter Eleven
The next couple of days the girls prepared for their trip to New York City and also went window shopping with Davina again as she looked at different items for her future children.
Occasionally she would get a couple things here and there but majority of her money went into savings for when the babies did come after all she was going to be a single parent to two babies, it wasn't going to be cheap it was going to be double the price and that thought alone scared her.
Currently, the three were getting ready to go out to some outlets to look around and shop.
Alice and Maria had said they wanted to get some unisex pajamas for their future nieces or nephews and as much as Davina appreciated the thought she didn't want them spending their money on her kids but they kept on persisting saying that they wanted to because that was their duties as Aunts which made Davina break down in tears her pregnancy hormones kicking in.
"Are you sure you don't want to change your shoes into some comfortable slip ons?" Alice asked walking back into the bedroom, her blonde hair pulled back into a tight ponytail wearing a yoga attire. She had just gotten finish with her yoga class and refused to change claiming she was comfortable.
Davina looked down at her black moccasins and back up at Alice and raised an eyebrow at her. "They're comfortable. Plus, I don't question what you wear, you don't question what I wear."
Alice didn't say anything to that except nod her head and looked over towards Maria who was wearing a pair of skinny jeans and a tight crop top, she had a bottle of perfume in her hand and gave Alice a look.
"You better not be saying anything about what I'm wearing, I'm not changing."
Alice rolled her eyes. "I wasn't going to say anything like that, geez."
Davina bit back a laugh as Maria just rolled her eyes crossing her arms over her chest after she sprayed herself with the perfume.
"Then what was it you were going to say?"
"I was going to ask if it would be too much to get a pretzel first before we shopped," Alice smiled patting her stomach with her hand.
Davinas mouth watered at the mention of pretzels and she immediately started nodding her head not caring that Alice had asked Maria the question and not her she was going to get one regardless she had said no it wasn't like she was the one shopping anyway she could always call one of them to figure out what store they had wondered into.
"I'm going to get one so I can either bring one to you or if we all want to go together I'm fine with that," Davina told Alice which has Maria nodding her head pointing over to Davina but still having her attention focused on the blonde.
"See, she can bring you one." Maria says causing Alice to open her mouth to protest but Maria holds her index finger up and shakes her head. "You promised me to help me pick out this one thing for her,"
Realization washed across Alices face which makes Davina roll her eyes and shake her head in amusement and give the blonde a smile.
"Don't worry I got you, do you just want the bites?"
Alice gives Davina a thankful look nodding her head. "Yes please, with nacho cheese and I'll Venmo you."
"Nonsense, it's only six bucks."
"Jesus, they're six bucks?" Maria gaped, her mouth falling open in surprise.
Davina shrugged her shoulders. "I think so,"
"I thought they were like three bucks or something!"
Davina put her hands up on surrender. "I don't know I just guessed with tax!"
Maria rolled her eyes shaking her head. "You're stupid if you guys pay that much for a pretzel."
"Maria you buy a pretzel sometimes too," Alice points out taking a seat on the bed with one leg bent and the other straight out in front of her with her hands behind her back.
"Yeah but clearly I'm not paying close attention to the price,"
Davina rolled her eyes she didn't care what the price of the pretzel would be she was craving it and she was going to get whether her bank account liked it or not.
"Oh you hypocrite, that didn't seem to bother you when it came to you buying those Harry Styles concert tickets, oh wait, two different cities tickets!" Alice exclaims which causes Maria to give Alice a deadly glare which makes Alice smile knowing she hit a button and one of Maria's at that.
"Yes, Alice, " Maria says hissing Alice's name. "I bought two different citied concert tickets to Harry Styles, but so did you. What's your point, we're all hypocrites?"
Alice's proud smile turned into a frown as she realized what she did which made Davina laugh and pat her knee.
"Anyway, are we all good to go? I really want a pretzel now." Davina stands up from the bed stretching her arms above her head as she looked between the two girls waiting for the response to her question.
Alice and Maria nod their heads, Alice stands up from the bed putting her hands above her head in a stretch popping her back in the process.
The three make their way to Maria's car making sure to grab some water bottles from the fridge before leaving.
Davina sat in the front seat next to Maria while Alice sat in back, claiming that she wanted to be in control of the music even though they never established that she was the DJ but nobody was going to argue with her especially when she wasn't going to fight back with a valid remark.
"Do you have any names that you like Davina?" Alice asked leaning forward putting her head between Maria and Davina.
Davina looks down at her from the corner of her eyes shaking her head. "No, but I do like the name Ariana for a girl."
Alice pursed her lips in thought. "Like Ariana Grande?"
"Um I guess? I was just going for the Italian name,"
Alice nodded her head leaning back in her seat. "I like it. Do you have any boy names?"
Davina shook her head if she was being honest she hadn't actually started thinking about baby names yet, she didn't even know the gender of babies it felt weird to think of names for them when she didn't know their gender.
"It's okay you still have time before you have to decide." Maria said giving her a smile.
"Do you want two boys or two girls? Or both?" Alice asked.
"What's with the all the questions?" Maria asked back once she stopped at a red light turning around to face the blonde, her sunglasses blocking her piercing gaze.
"I was just making small talk, I don't want to just listen to music." Alice responded shrugging her shoulders. "I want two little boys I think that would be so cute!"
"That thought scares me," Davina said shivering at the thought of having two little boys.
Deep down Davina wanted both babies to be girls she thought it would be easier to raise them rather than boys, though she wouldn't mind if they were boys either she was going to love them regardless of their gender and s****l orientation they were her children and she was blessed to have them in her life no matter how the events happened for them to enter her life and for the outcome.
"Don't worry, you'll be a wonderful mother." Alice said putting her hand on Davina's shoulder giving it a squeeze.
Davina smiles at Alice putting her hand over hers and squeezing it once before dropping it back into her lap.
She looked out the window allowing her attention to be only on the scenery that passed by as they drove to mall.

Petra Russo held up a pair of onesies in the air her eyes ranking over the material closely. She liked the pink and purple bows that imprinted one of them but she didn't like that the one attached behind it blue and yellow ducks, she didn't want people thinking her baby was a boy.
Annoyed she put the onesies back and moved onto the next item of clothes which were a few sun dresses. She grabbed a couple not caring to even look at the price tags as she picked out all of the ones that were her favorite color or she thought would be cute.
Petra had just found out the gender of the baby and had wanted to grab a couple of items that were for that specific gender of baby and surprise Elio with them since he couldn't make it to the doctors appointment she had earlier that day.
"Ma'am, can I help you find anything?" A sales associate asks interrupting Petra.
Petra looks up locking gazes with the sales lady before a fake smile immediately makes it way onto her face as she steps over to the pair of onesies she was holding earlier with purple and pink bows.
"Do you by chance have this without the blue and yellow ducks?"
The sales lady looks at the onesie that she was referring to and then back at Petra who was raising me eyebrow at her waiting for her response. The sales lady smiles sadly shaking her head.
"I'm sorry but if they come in a package like that they don't come in a single."
Petra rolls her eyes putting it back on the shelf using that same hand to wave off the sales lady.
"I don't need you anymore."
The sales lady gives her a look but walks away nonetheless wanting to get clear away from her before she decided to be even ruder than what she was being.
Petra continued looking along the baby clothes not really seeing anything that was catching her eyes that she thought Elio would like, they were all too provocative to be baby clothes in her opinion.
She grabbed a couple more items that she found cute before not finding anything else and decided that she had enough shopping for the day and would rather go to the Chanel store that was two stores down and see if she could find anything she would like there for herself.
As she was heading to the register to pay for the items that she was getting she heard a pair of two people laughing the sound immediately becoming familiar to her but she couldn't quite put where she had heard them before.
Petra turned to the sound of the laughing her eyes immediately landing on a blonde and brunette gushing over some pajamas in the front of the store in their unisex section. The two girls looked familiar but she couldn't remember where she would have seen them before.
Petra thought that maybe they were in the store before this with her and just happened to come into this store as well but she felt like she knew them more on the personal level than anything she just couldn't remember.
Petra was about to continue her way to the register when the blonde asked a question and made her stay to see if maybe she would mention anybody of use to see where she knew them because it was bothering her to no end.
"What about this one? Do you think she'd like it?" The blonde asked holding up one that was a neutral brown and an a outline of a bear in the front stitched across it.
The brunette looks down at the piece of clothing before shaking her head. "No, Davina would not put that on her child."
Bingo!
Davina, that's who she knows them from! But wait, did she just hear them right? Did they just say Davina wouldn't put that on her child?
Maybe she didn't hear them right, there was no way Davina could be pregnant she wasn't even in a relationship the last she heard and she was pretty sure that Elio would have told her if Davina was pregnant, that was his best friend she would have had to told Elio if she was unless she hadn't told Elio yet because she was ashamed of herself. It wouldn't surprise Petra honestly if that was the case.
Elio had told Petra that Davina wasn't one to sleep around with somebody unless she was in a committed relationship with them but she dressed a certain way that screamed a different picture to Petra and by the look of her friends she seems to even hang out with people who do that.
"We'll see about that. I was thinking about buying her something now and giving it to her when she gave birth." The blonde said putting the pair of pajamas back picking up a different one and expecting it.
"I think Davina would appreciate-"
Petra takes a step back hearing enough of the conversation, a small smile making its way on her face at the new found information. She couldn't wait until she told Elio she finally knew something that he didn't and couldn't wait to share the news with him.
Petra finally makes it to the cash register where the same sales associate from earlier was standing behind the register a look of annoyance crosses Petra's face but she immediately fixes it with a fake smile and sets her things on the counter.
"Could you make sure that you don't wrinkle them please and could you take the hangers? I have plastic free ones at home," Petra says putting her purse in front of her, her pearl chrome acrylic nails catching the beam of light as she wraps her fingers along the handle of the bag.
The sales associate quickly rings Petra up leaving the hangers in the bag and making sure that she didn't wrinkle the dresses before handing her the bag.
"That will $196.35,"
Not wanting to get her debit card out of her wallet, Petra brings her iPhone up to kiosk paying for the items. When she hears the little tune it plays once the transaction was approved she grabs the bag and doesn't bother if thanking the lady or giving her a goodbye as she walked out the store with determination.
Miss Davina wasn't so perfect after all just wait until Elio hears about this he won't like her anymore and won't want to do anything with her! She wasn't married nor was she in a relationship she was having a baby out of wedlock and it was a sin, and if Elio thinks that their child would be associated with Davina's he was mistaken.
This whole thing basically just confirmed what Petra had been saying about Davina all along since she first saw her at the charity event that Davina's grandfather held each year the year before she married Elio.
Nobody else thought that Davina was secretly a slut and sleeping with anybody and everybody but Petra did and this little mistake just confirms everything for Petra, of course unless Davina was in a secret relationship that nobody knew about but Petra highly doubted it.
As she was walking to the Chanel store Petra got a glimpse of a familiar brunette making her way towards her holding two pretzel cups. Davina.
Petra stops in her footsteps waiting for the brunette to get closer and notice her standing there. Petra's eyes immediately shot down to Davinas stomach zeroing in on it to see if she could see a baby bump or not which at first she didn't but when she squinted her eyes and really focused she could barely get out the outline she hid perfectly well.
Petra grins as she trails her eyes up instantly locking in on Davina who finally noticed Petra waiting.
The color seemed to drain from Davinas face a little bit but it goes unnoticed by Petra as Davina got closer.
"My god! Davina you look amazing, how are you?" Petra exclaimed reaching over giving her a semi-hug patting her back before pulling away giving her a fake smile.
Davina gives her a confused look before shrugging her shoulders lightly. "Thank you, Petra you look amazing too. I'm good, what about you?"
"I'm good thank you for asking! I was just shopping," Petra said holding up the bag of the current store she just shopped making Davina look down at the bag. "and overheard the news that you are expecting-"
"Wait, you heard what?" Davina said cutting Petra off making her look up at her in confusion.
"I overheard that you are expecting and I just wanted to say that if you think your child will be around Elio-"
Davina instantly turned pale the cups of pretzels dropping from her hands making them spill and scatter across the floor.
Petra rolls her eyes shaking her head. "Never mind, I'm not even going to waste my time."
Petra kicks a small pretzel bite with her foot making it scurry across the floor before stopping at one of the mini shops in the middle of the outlet.
Petra side steps Davina not even bothering to say goodbye or anything. She didn't care if she was being a b***h today, she didn't like people like Davina they deserved to be treated the way she treated her.
༺═──────────────═༻
Davina's heart was pounding in her chest as she picked up the pretzel mess she made a million thoughts speeding through her mind each second.
Her ears were ringing and that was the only sound she could hear as she threw everything away and made her way to the store that she was supposed to be meeting Alice and Maria at, the same store that Petra had just left.
At first Davina didn't think she had heard Petra right when she overheard that she was expecting and Elio's name in the next sentence that's when Davina felt like she had just gotten hit by a car and thats when she dropped her pretzels.
There was no way Elio would have told Petra that Davina was pregnant with his kid he was pretty determined to not letting her find out and she said she overheard meaning she must have heard two people talking and with her holding a bag from the same store that she was supposed to be meeting Alice and Maria at, she was hoping that what she was thinking wasn't right but she couldn't help but think deep down what she was fearing was true.
Davina entered the store and started looking around for her two friends desperately wanting to talk to them and get out of the mall before she had a panic attack in front of everybody and embarrass herself even more.
It didn't take her long to find them, they were in the back of the store leaving the cash register when they spotted her, Maria had a grin on her face but Alice had a glare.
"Where's my pretzel? You told me you got it," Alice said once she got closer to Davina but she didn't seemed phased and instead looked at them intensively.
"Did you guys see Petra Russo in here?"
Maria and Alice give Davina their 'are-you-joking' look shaking their heads.
"No, we didn't really look to see who was in here we just started shopping. Why?" Maria asked as they made their way to the store.
Davina sighed running her hand through her hair once they exit the store stopping right in front of the doors.
"Petra stopped me on my way here and told me she overheard I was expecting and told me that if I thought my child would be around Elio-"
"Wait, she knows? How!?" Alice exclaimed looking at Davina all bugged eye.
"That's the thing, she was in the store you guys were in she had the same bag and everything," Davina shook her head pointing down at the bag that Alice held in her hand.
Alice and Maria look down at the bag before looking at each other before a look of regret makes it's way onto their faces, they turn to Davina shaking their head.
"We're so sorry Davina, we swear we didn't see Petra. I didn't, did you?" Alice said looking at Maria who shakes her head.
Davina nods her head already knowing that they wouldn't tell Petra, she trusted them and they were basically her sisters they wouldn't tell her about the affair so they wouldn't tell her about the babies.
"I know, it's just, she knows now and that isn't good."
"It isn't but let's not stress about it here, let's go home and relax. We can grab some pretzels on the way out, we have no idea if she's still listening." Maria said to which Alice and Davina nodded their head.
They quickly make their way to the pretzel stand grabbing another thing of pretzels this time Maria pays them claiming it was to make up for the fact that she and Alice had big mouths and don't know how to use code names for when they were out in public which Davina laughed at and thanked her for even though she didn't need to do that.
After they got their pretzels they walked back to Maria's car and made their way back to Maria's place where they were going to spend the rest of the day trying to forget what had just happened.
༺═──────────────═༻
Two hours later Davina was sitting on her bed with her laptop out in front of her with google chrome loading. She had just gotten out of the shower after spending majority of her day at Maria's place watching old horror movies to take her mind off what had happened at the outlet earlier but if Davina was being honest with herself it didn't help.
The whole entire time she was watching the movie she couldn't help but replay what had happened and what could have happened if she didn't drop the pretzels and Petra didn't get annoyed and left.
Numerous times she imagined Petra slapping her or pulling her hair trying to fight her which of course Davina wouldn't hit back she wasn't do that they were both pregnant. She also wouldn't imagine Petra hiring somebody to kill her and her and the babies which that thought scared her but she knew that Petra wouldn't do something like that, well at least she hopped that she wouldn't do something like that.
Sirius, Davinas husky whined at the foot of her bed, his head in between his paws. His deep blue eyes looking sad and lost. Davina smiled at him patting the spot next to her signaling for him to move closer to her.
He laid down next to her curling up into a ball on her left side, a smile makes it way onto her face as she runs her hands through his soft fur.
Davina sat there running her hands through his fur while she waited for her laptop to finish loading up the website she typed in, she was in a desperate need for a new one and she wanted to buy one but she was waiting for Black Friday when everything went on sale.
A little ping from her laptop makes Davina stop petting her dog and turn her focus back on the computer screen that finally had the Indeed website up and running.
Davina changed the location from Miami to New York and typed in what she was looking for.
She found some jobs that caught her attention and she quickly sent in her applications with one thing certain.
She wasn't coming back from New York.
