"I believe nothing happens by mistake. You know, the universe has a divine plan. That sounds dramatic." ~ Lana Del Rey Chapter Fifteen Five hours later the girls walked back into their suite existed out of their minds. Davina's feet were hurting her despite wearing something she thought would have been comfortable but she didn't think the walking would have been that bad, she wanted to blame her pregnancy for her feeling this way but deep down she knew that it was in fact because she made a poor shoe choice. "How are your feet feeling?" Alice asked taking her shoes off as she takes a seat on the edge of one of the beds. "Who are you talking to?" Davina asked rubbing lotion onto her left heel. "Maria," Davina looked over at Maria who was kicking off her heels. "They feel fine, thanks for asking." Alice rolled her eyes but didn't ask further despite knowing that it was the opposite because she was limping by the time they made their way to the elevator. Davina rolled her eyes at Alice and turned to Maria the courage to finally tell her about her plans with Stefan tonight. "Stefan asked me out on a date tonight." Maria looked over at Davina in shock. "Really?" Davina nodded her head biting her lip. "Yeah, I told him that I would go," Davina waited for the outburst of rage and disgust to erupt from Maria but that didn't come in fact, the quite opposite happened. Instead of getting the screams of anger she got a squeal and was immediately brought to her feet by Maria. "I can't believe you didn't say anything until now! We need to get you ready, you can't go out looking like this." Maria exclaimed not giving her room to protest as she dragged her to the bathroom to get ready. Davina sighed looking over towards Alice who had a big smile on her face following the two into the bathroom. Well I guess you're not going to be much help- Davina thought to herself as she sat down on the toilet seat watching as Maria pulled out her make up bag. Davina didn't want to go all out for this dinner especially since she knew that there was no way that she would be having another date with Stefan after this one especially when she dropped the news at the end of the night that she was pregnant and that she wasn't looking for a relationship anytime soon. "Please don't do too much, I don't want to look overdone for one night," Maria gave Davina a look but sighed in defeat as she nodded her head listening to her wishes. Davina smiled in gratitude and looked over at Alice who was leaning against the door frame with the same smile from earlier present. "I told you he liked you but you didn't believe a single word I said." Alice teased sticking her tongue out at Davina in a playful manner. Davina rolled her eyes. "Just because he asked me out doesn't mean he likes me Alice," "No, but it does mean he's attracted to you." Maria chimes in. Davina blushed shaking her head. She didn't want to think about any male liking her not in this situation at least, the thought made her upset and sick to her stomach. She was a terrible person and had home wrecker written all over her how could any guy find that attractive? "Wipe that look off your face Davina," Maria scolded coming into her line of view holding an eyeliner pencil in one hand. "What look?" Davina asked. Maria doesn't say anything while she concentrates on applying eyeliner to Davina's eyelids. It wasn't until after she had applied an equal amount and layer to both eyes did she take a step back and respond: "You always have this look whenever Alice or I mention any other male finding you attractive, you've had it since you found out your pregnant and I know why you have that look and you need to stop thinking that way." Davina signed shaking her head. "It isn't that easy Maria, you don't know how it is." "I may not know but I know that you have no reason to feel that way." Davina shook her head deciding to keep her mouth shut no matter how many times she tells Maria or Alice how she feels they won't understand. Maria was quick on doing Davinas make up and just like Davina had asked her make up was light and wasn't overdone, which she thanked Maria knowing it must have been hard for her not to since she loved doing make up. Alice on the other hand was finishing Davinas hair opting to help her out that way. She had decided to braid her hair into two french braids wanting to respect Davina's wishes on wanting her look tonight to be simple. "Have you given much more thought about what you're wanting the genders to be?" Alice had asked once she finished her hair taking a step back to admire her work. Davina shook her head look down at her bump. She hadn't but she also wasn't even thinking about that to be honest she had other things on her mind like moving and getting as far away as possible from Elio. She sort of felt bad that she hadn't been focusing on her children but at the same time she was still a little bit scared of the fact that she was soon to be a mother and once she found out the gender of the babies she felt like it was really going to settle in and then right before she even knows it she would be giving birth and the thought labor scared her and she didn't want to think about the level of pain and discomfort she was going to be feeling, it was things she didn't want to think about just yet not until she felt more secure with where she was at. "I want you to have girls," Maria said handing Davina her water bottle that she left by the bed. "Thanks," Davina said as she took the water bottle unscrewing the cap. "I wouldn't mind having girls, I definitely have more girl names picked out than boys." "I would like two boys, I think that would be cute and funny seeing you being a boy mom," Alice snorted. Davina shook her head. "I don't know if I'd be able to do boys especially by myself, I'm a girl I don't know the first thing about being a boy!" "What if you had both? One boy, one girl?" "I don't know, look, I honestly don't mind who they end up being I'm going to love them regardless." Davina sighed shaking her head placing her hands on her stomach to calm herself. "If I'm being honest deep down I know I would love to have two girls, but I don't mind what the outcome is." Maria and Alice smiled at Davina's response. He hadn't given Davina any detail about where he was taking her for dinner but he did say that she could wear something comfortable and anything she felt comfortable in and Davina had done just that. She had decided to wear a pair of jeggings she got from Target and a cream colored sweater that covered her stomach. For shoes she opted on wearing brown boots she borrowed from Alice since none of the shoes she brought were necessarily date appropriate and would go with this specific outfit— it wasn't like she had planned on packing clothes or shoes for a chance that she would end up going on a date, dating has definitely not been on her agenda lately. The girls sat there chatting about random things while they waited the extra hour they had to pass before Stefan came to collect Davina for their date, with Maria and Alice once again arguing about celebrities they found attractive it left Davina to her own thoughts. "Ryan Reynolds is way more attractive than Chris Evans what do you mean!?" Maria exclaims looking at Alice in distraught at the bombshell that she had dropped earlier that Davina hadn't heard. Davina look at Alice and Maria hoping they wouldn't bring her into the argument especially knowing that she wouldn't pick despite already knowing that she felt Ryan was more attractive than Chris but she wasn't going to pick sides when it came down to these two—Alice and Maria of course, not Ryan Reynolds and Chris Evans. "Chris Evans is Captain America, have you seen that ass!?" Alice exclaims throwing her hands in the air. Maria rolls her eyes shaking her head. "Yeah, it's not that great. Ryan is funny and plays Deadpool, now that's hot." "Yeah, Freddy Kruger's cousin." Alice snickered making Maria gasp at her response. "You take that back," "What? No!" Alice laughed shaking her head. Maria gave the blonde a glare her body ready to bounce onto the girl but she stopped herself when Davina shot her a look and instead gave Alice a glare. "Whatever," Alice smirked loving the fact that Maria had to withdrawal her claws before she could make any damage to her over something as stupid as this— it has happened before. A knock on the closed door breaks the girls away, butterflies immediately floating in Davina's stomach as she looks towards the door. Maria and Alice quickly get off the bed and scurry over towards the bathroom not wanting to be seen by Stefan when Davina opened the door. Davina rolled her eyes at the girls but got up from the bed and opened the door to reveal Stefan standing there wearing a black v-neck and denim jeans. He had a smile on his face and his brown hair was styled in its normal hairstyle, overall he still looked good without even trying something that made Davina a little bit jealous of because she had to put in time and effort to look as good as him. "Hey, you look good." Davina smiled as she greeted him. Stefan returned the smile, "As do you, are you ready?" He asks holding his hand out for her to take. Davina nodded her head as she put her hand in his. She looked over her shoulder as she shut the door catching a glimpse of the thumbs up and winks from Maria and Alice as it closed. The two walk down to the elevator taking it to the lobby where they got into a waiting car. The drive was silent but Davina didn't mind she was too nervous and was afraid to speak even if it wasn't the first time she was alone with Stefan aside from the Uber driver of course. The ride was short but Davina didn't mind as they got out of the car thanking the driver and looked up at the restaurant that Stefan had decided on taking her to. Diana's. Davina had never heard of this place before nor had any idea of what they made but she was willing to try something new and she also didn't want to be one of those girls who complained about something as small as a place to eat. It's food people. "I have no idea what they have but I've heard it was good." Stefan says opening the door for her giving her a smile as she walks by giving him a thanks. "I'm okay with having something new," Davina replied smiling over her shoulder as she walked in. Stefan gave a relief sigh as he walked in behind her. The restaurant was nice the decor similar to Olive Garden's just minus the low lighting, this one was more brighter and the tables and chairs were less fancy. "Good evening welcome to Diana's, name?" "Stefan." "Right this way," The two follow the hostess down to their table that was located out on the terrace, the table had a single candle and two wine glasses with menus already placed in front of them. Davina gave Stefan a smile as he held out her chair for her as she sat down. Stefan made his way around the table taking his own seat giving Davina a smile as he tucked himself in. "I was scared you were going to bail on me last minute." Stefan laughed looking through the menu. "Why?" Stefan shrugged his shoulders closing the menu. "I'm not sure, I guess I was just nervous." Davina laughed looking down at the table. She definitely understood where Stefan was coming from she was nervous too but that didn't mean she would bail on him she wasn't that type of person. "I wou-" "Thank you for coming to Diana's, my name is Alejandro and I'll be your waiter today, can I start you off with something to drink? Perhaps, some wine?" A waiter chimes in cutting Davina off before she could respond to Stefan. Davina smiled softly ordering a lemonade her attention focused on Stefan as he ordered himself a glass of red wine and a thing of breadsticks while they waited something that Davina was glad he ordered without having to ask. Once the waiter left Stefan turned his attention back to Davina giving her an apologetic smile but Davina just shrugged him off. It was nothing important that she had to say and the waiter was just doing his job she wasn't going to be upset over something so little. "How did you hear about this place?" Davina asked crossing her right leg over her left, her chin going into the palm of her chin. "My uncle told me about it today, told me that you would appreciate it." Davina blushed at the thought of Stefan talking to his uncle about their date and looked down at the table, she wondered what he could have said about her to him. "Do you miss Spain?" Davina asked. "Sort of, but I'm glad that I'm here." The waiter returned with their drinks at that time, Davina's lemonade in one hand and a bottle of wine in the other. He displayed the bottle to Stefan asking if it was to his liking to which Stefan had no complaint to. The waiter quickly poured Stefan his glass leaving the bottle on the table. "Are you ready to order?" Stefan looked at Davina who nodded her head and Stefan looked back at Alejandro. "Can I get a fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and she'll be having-" Stefan says looking towards Davina. "Can I just have the four cheese tortellini with marinara sauce please," Alejandro nodded his head writing down their food order before dismissing himself. Once he was gone Davina turned her attention back to Stefan. "What was your favorite thing about Spain, sorry if I've asked you this already." Stefan laughed shaking his head. "I don't think you've asked it plus if you have I wouldn't have minded," he reassured. "But to answer your question, I miss the architecture. Barcelona was beautiful." "I've never been but it's definitely on my bucket list," Davina responded. "You'll have to go sometime you definitely won't regret it." Davina smiled. Maybe she could take the twins when they were a little bit older, they could go on a family trip. Davina wouldn't do it alone she'd probably invite if not both one of the girls to go with them or her parents, who knows maybe it could be the start of a new family tradition that they could do once the twins got a little bit older. "Is your family from Italy?" Stefan asked breaking Davina out of thought. Davina nodded her head. "Yeah, I have family that live in Venice and Florence." "Beautiful places, I've only been a couple times, have you been?" Davina nodded her head. "A couple times when I was younger but I haven't been in awhile but hopefully I can in the near future." "That would be nice," Davina smiled nodding her head. Stefan was easy to talk to and she liked that it was harder to talk to Elio after his marriage to Petra. Yes, she was still sleeping with him and she was still as trustworthy as she was when they had first started dating but before Elio had married Petra talking to Elio was like talking to a friend- after the weddings, it was like Davina was talking but Elio had selective hearing and chose only what he wanted to hear when he wanted to hear it. Stefan, he listened and he responded. He communicates and that's what Davina likes. The two continued talking and laughing up until their food arrived but that didn't stop the two as they continued on talking throughout the evening asking question after question getting to know one another as the night went on. Davina was really enjoying herself and her time with Stefan, she was glad that she had accepted his invitation out and didn't let her pregnancy effect her from having a good night, she deserved it especially after everything that she had been through. The two had just made it back to their hotel room and we're waiting for the elevator to meet them at the lobby to take them back upstairs. Stefan had his hands in his pockets and was looking down at his shoes deep in thought. They had talked the whole way back to the hotel not caring if they had annoyed the Lyft driving with all their talking and laughing, they were having a good time— at least Davina was having a good time, and she wasn't going to be sorry for laughing or conversing with somebody she was a good evening with. The elevator ringed before opening. Davina entered pushing the button for their floor. Stefan stood outside the elevator his head still down facing the floor. "Are you coming?" Davina asked awkwardly laughing. Stefan sighs putting his hand on the side of the elevator doors preventing it from closing. He looks up at Davina giving her a sad look. "You know how you asked me if I missed Spain?" Davina nodded her head as Stefan sighed. 'Was he about to tell me he was really homesick?' Davina thought to herself as she waited for him to respond. "I sort of lied. I do but I don't." "Okay?" Stefan sighed shaking his head. "I'm sorry that didn't come out the way I wanted it to," Davina gave him a baffled look don't really sure what he was trying to tell her. "It's okay, you don't have to tell me I get that your homesick, everybody gets like that when they're far from ho-" "I'm engaged to somebody else." Stefan blurted.
