He Forgot Everything Which Happened

Dave walked energetically into the house with his uniform hung on his shoulders. His father was seated on the couch as usual awaiting his questions. Unexpectedly, the man greeted him and headed up to his room. "Dave?" The elderly man called, halting Dave's movement. The man who had gone a little distance returned and stared at his father curiously. The elderly man cleared his throat. "Are you alright?" "Yeah. Why do you ask?" Dave retorted. The elderly man was surprised to hear him. Dave had been missing for three days and he couldn't get a lead on where he was. His informant had taken off to report to him about his recent discoveries. When he returned to the house, everyone had vacated. All effort to look for Dave had proved abortive. The man even began to think Dave had realized who he was and taken off. The man brushed the matter to the back of his mind. He had mentally prepared himself on how to answer all the questions he'd pose. Turns out he was worried about nothing. He took out the herb which he had been brewing for the past three days in hope that the young man would return, and handed it to him. "Oh, here's your herbs." Dave narrowed his eyes, but took it regardless. "I would take this after I'm done bathing." "No! Take it now. It'd be cold by the time you're done bathing and it'd be another hassle for me to get another one for you." The elderly man who realized he had yelled, hurriedly explained. Dave glanced down at the cup, and with a scrunched face, drowned it just like he had always done. Afterwards, he handed the empty cup to his father and retreated to his room. The elderly man got up and walked into the kitchen. He dumped the cup there and hurriedly headed to his room. Almost immediately, the leopard made his way into his room through the window. The elderly man had a frown on his face as he asked pointedly. "What did you say you saw?" "I saw Dave in a werewolf form." The leopard replied. "Are you sure of this? Did you see him transform with your own eyes?" The older man asked again. The leopard went silent. Seconds later, he said. "I didn't witness his transformation, but I ran into the building when I heard growls. Believe me when I say I saw him in his wolf form." The elderly man held his head as he suddenly felt dizzy. "You can leave." With a nod, the leopard turned and walked right out of the window, the same way it entered. The elderly man slumped on his bed and decided to tackle the situation as he was up. Since the absence of Dave, he had been having insomnia thinking he had lost him. Breathing out a sigh of relief, he shut his eyes and drifted into Dreamland. ...... Morning came and the duo woke up as usual. Davina turned to Tabitha's dressing table to see the woman seated there, making herself up with all seriousness. "Did I or did I not say I'd be leaving to my place today?" She asked solemnly, wondering why she now seemed so reluctant. "I remember too. If you still insist, I can send you over myself." Tabitha replied, but saw the latter wave her hand from the mirror. "Nevermind." Davina muttered, kicked up the duvet and walked into the bathroom. After she was gone, Tabitha chuckled. "Silly girl." Davina walked out of the bathroom minutes later. Her eyes clashed with the wall clock and she hummed happily to herself for waking up quite early. Soon, she was done putting on her uniform and walked out of the room with Tabitha. When they passed the room Dave had been in, she reached out to grab the handle but stopped hearing Tabitha say. "He's no longer there." "Huh?" Davina gasped in surprise. "If he isn't here, where could he possibly be?" "He has a father, and his father has a house, so what do you expect?" The lady snorted. "That's not what I mean. Wasn't he fazed by the scenes of that day?" Davina hurried defended herself. "He didn't remember a thing." Tabitha replied. "Really?" Seeing Tabitha nod, Davina muttered incoherently. "How strange." "I was shocked too. He only remembers being in Jackson's house. By the way, who's this Jackson?" "Jackson Franco." "Oh, the detective who wiped out the lineage of Golden Fur Pack." Tabitha snorted. "He's an enemy to all mythical creatures!" "So my assumptions were really right. He really was the one who wiped out an entire lineage!" Davina huffed in frustration. They walked into the dinning room and while taking her seat, Tabitha remembered to ask. "Hey, I also heard he's also part of the current investigation you're investigating with Dave. How true is that?" Davina sighed and also took a seat beside her. Tabitha took a plate and passed it to her. "Well, Dave and I got intercepted on the way to our crime scene by Jackson's men. Said something about providing us with whatever we'll need to make sure our case is a success." "That man is hungry for power. Not only did he betray his own kind, but he also went to great lengths to suck up to the achievement you two would make. Despicable!" Tabitha said angrily. "Why are you so worked up? Neither Dave nor I are complaining about this." Davina chuckled. "I just hate to see my younger sister taken advantage of." Tabitha sighed. Davina shook her head but said nothing else. Soon, they were done with breakfast before exiting the room. The ride to the station was quick. After parking in front of the station, Tabitha stared ahead to see Jonas standing a little farther from them with his eyes pinned on their car. She turned to Davina. "Are you sure that fellow over there doesn't feel a thing for you?" Davina followed the train of her sight. When it settled on Jonas, she scoffed. "The sight of that guy irritates me so much." "Thankfully, he isn't your mate." The latter chuckled. Davina revealed her disgusted expression. "If he really was, I'd give up on him and become a vampire." Her last words sent Tabitha laughing out hard. Davina smirked as she pushed the door open and got out. The sound of her laughter attracted gazes from nearby people. "Tune down your voice. You're literally embarrassing." Tabitha didn't answer her, but she patted Davina's arms hard before stepping on the accelerator. "I like your mom." Dave's voice came up from behind her. "My mom?" The lady asked in amusement, turning around to face him. "Yeah, she told me to call her that. She said you also did the same." Davina sighed realizing Tabitha had messed with his head. Just as the duo were discussing, Jonas hurried over to them. "Davina? Are you alright?" The man asked out of concern. Davina turned to look at him and nodded. "I'm fine. Thanks for asking." Jonas swallowed an invisible lump as he nodded. They had been informed of the two being beaten up but many at the station had said it was Davina's way of evading the fight. So, Tabitha who got wind of the assumptions, invited everyone to come see the unconscious two. Seeing was believing. Unexpectedly, Isabella said she didn't care about such things and rescheduled the fight to whenever Davina would start work at the station again. Davina had made it to work which meant the duel would hold regardless of the fact she was weak.
