Heavily Injured

1432 Words
The werecat was already weak from the fight, so when the unknown man came to fight him, he wisely backed out. The man who was a leopard, snarled angrily before storming out of the house and straight to his master. Dave's father was reading a magazine as usual when he stormed in. The man was first surprised and was about to reprimand him when he saw the look on his face. "What happened?" The man breathed in and out before replying him. "Dave shifted into a werewolf right in front of my eyes." The elderly man on the seat sprang up upon hearing him. "That should be highly impossible!" The leopard said nothing as he kept his head lowered onto the ground. "He takes his medicine every day. Morning and night, never misses it. Or is there something I overlooked?" The other man questioned himself. "Yes." The leopard suddenly said. "Dave's partner at the office is a werewolf, an Alpha and she's Dave's mate." Following his words was the sound of glass breaking. The elderly man had struck his fist against the tea table and shattered it to pieces. "Why are you just informing me of this?" "I wasn't sure of the information." The elderly man said nothing for a few seconds. "Go back and keep an eye on Dave. Next time, tell me everything you see or you'd pay with your blood if anything goes wrong!" The leopard nodded his head but his eyes gleamed murderously. "Okay, sir." ...... The Next Day Davina's eyes flew open the moment she regained consciousness. She tried to stand up but received a warning by Tabitha. "Don't you dare!" Only then did the latter calm down. She turned to her side where the voice came from and breathed out a sigh of relief. "What happened? How did I get here?" "Dave called me with your phone. You passed out." Tabitha replied. Davina sighed and held onto her forehead. She remembered attacking the werecat and being kicked away from him. However, when she crashed, her head went blank. Recalling something, she tried to sit up but was stopped by Tabitha. "Where's Dave?" "In another room, receiving medication. He's severely wounded and has been unconscious for two days." "Two what? We've been unconscious for two days?" Davina sprung up forcefully from her bed. Tabitha glared at her, but made no effort to help her sit back. "Yes." "You got into a fight with the werecat again and you were the one who fainted and not Dave. When I think of it, I get cracked up." Tabitha said and cackled. "Hey! Did he tell you that werecat wasn't smiling? He beat me blue and black. He even stabbed me with mercury!" Davina cussed and gnashed her teeth angrily. That creature had done enough. It even embarrassed her in front of Dave. How would she hold up her head again after this incident! "Ok, I won't rub it on your face that you lost to a werecat, but the fact that you were severely injured by him is really disturbing." "Are you serious about this?" Davina huffed. "That creature is way more stronger than you think." "Is he?" Muttered Tabitha as she clicked her tongue. "Why am I even talking to you about this! You haven't fought with him before!" Davina snorted more. "Are you sure?" The other lady raised a brow mockingly. "Yeah, cause I have no idea where you found him to fight with." Davina said but froze recalling something. "After the night I ran to you, the werecat suddenly stayed away from me. Did you do anything?" Tabitha held up her hand close to her as she admired her sister from up close. "What do you think?" "You did confront him! When and how?!" Davina asked after the realization dawned on her. Tabitha shook her head and laughed out. "You said he was quite strong the first time you fought him. You had taken your pill and fainted the moment you sneaked into my room. That was enough for me to be curious about his strength." "Then you confronted him? That's quite like it!" Davina huffed. "Hey, it's not that much of a big deal." Tabitha consoled. "How would you know? You're not the one who's strength got restrained!" Davina said aggrieved. "Thinking of that, I think your father did the right thing. By the way, your mother called again. Said you weren't picking." "Can she stop calling! I'm having a hard time dealing with myself at the moment." Davina frowned. "She also said to tell you that she'd visit you if you refuse to visit her. She wasn't requesting, she was merely informing you." "She can't do that! What I'm I even saying? There's no way she'd have my address unless you tell her." Davina said and narrowed her eyes at Tabitha. "Or would you really tell her?" "You really underestimate your mother. Your mother values privacy, one of the reasons she's not stalking you like most mothers who day they care." "I'd phone her later. Right now, I need to see Dave." Davina muttered and got up. "So because of your mate, the pain which sent you back to your bed, disappeared?" Tabitha said and shook her head with a smile. Davina, who she expected to counter her, said nothing but slightly narrowed her eyes. Noticing this, Tabitha instantly knew something was wrong. "What is it?" "What form was Dave when you met us? Human or...?" "Human, but putting on torn clothes." Replied Tabitha. "Anything the matter?" Davina stared at her and replied. "Dave turned into a werewolf." "Huh? He's one of us too?" Tabitha asked in surprise thinking back to the time she had seen Dave in the station. "He looked like a human." Tabitha had muttered her words in a low voice, but because of her keen hearing, Davina heard it. "I don't know who's feeding him with Sapsali." "Sapsali? If what you said is true, then whoever that person is, he or she is truly inhuman!" Tabitha scowled. Sapsali was a medicinal herb used to curb one's powers. In the case of Werewolves, they're wolves would never come out. Unless the individual stayed away from it. "It's just a guess. If I didn't know better I would have associated him as a human." Davina replied and grabbed the robe on the bed. She put it on and walked out of the room. She met an unfamiliar face in a maid uniform who showed her to the room where the man was being treated. She pushed the door open and walked in. A doctor was currently examining the unconscious man on the bed. "Doctor, is he alright?" She asked, walking closer to the man on the bed. The Doctor turned around and smiled at her. "He's fine, but his bones seemed to have shifted into an awkward position." "Awkward position? Won't it straighten back?" Davina asked in confusion. For all she knew, a werewolf's body structure would return to his previous self after he transformed back to human. "It'll straighten back, however I'm clueless on how long it'll take since this is the first time I'm encountering such a thing." "Ok, doctor. Thanks for your help." Davina smiled and walked over to Dave. Then she squatted to his level and caressed his forehead slightly. "I'm sorry." She turned his head to a side and stared at the fur mark which seemed to have regained a little golden color. "Who's restraining you, honey." The man's pale lips stared back at her unmoving. The door was suddenly pushed open and Tabitha poked her head inside. "He's not yet up? I made breakfast. Come have some." Davina nodded and glanced down at Dave. "What about him?" "The doctor had some food nutrients and vitamins inside the drips he gives him." "Oh, that's how it is." Davina muttered and reached out to caress the fur mark once again. "What's with you? Why are you suddenly silent?" Davina asked her wolf. The latter was mute for more than three minutes until her voice came up again. "I feel hurt." "Why?" "I can't believe you stopped me from coming out just to gain pity from your mate and get badly injured." "What are you talking about? There was no way I was gonna transform Infront of that werecat! What if someone saw me or something of that sort! Besides, aren't you also wishing for Dave to claim us both!" Her rebuke left her work speechless. Seconds later, it's little voice came up as she huffed. "Fine! You win!"
