Soon, the duo was speeding away from Jackson's place.
On the way, Dave couldn't contain his excitement as he blabbered to Davina. "This is like a dream I've always wanted to come true. Meeting Jackson Franco."
Davina rolled her eyes and turned to look outside. "I don't care."
"I noticed. Who's your role model?" The man asked with a chuckle.
Davina raised a brow as she debated on the question. "Role model? How important is having one?"
"Huh?" The man asked in surprise. Then shrugged. "Most people have role models. People they look up to and want to be like. Either profession or their behavior."
"Oh, that. I don't think I have any for now.'' Davina replied.
Dave said nothing, but parked in front of a house. Staring at the building made his insides cringe. "Are you sure this is the right place?"
"Yeah." Replied Davina as she pushed the door open and walked out.
Just like the first house they went to, the house was extremely gloomy. However, the faint smell of candle could be perceived.
Her eyes turned cold as she rushed into the building. With her keen sense of smell, she followed it and stopped in the master bedroom.
Cautiously, she glanced around and frowned. Why was there a lot of candles in a bowl, in the room?
Suddenly, she heard a low chuckle behind her. "We meet again, Barbie."
She instantly felt something was amiss, and turned around. The sight that met her was the werecat holding a dagger to Dave's neck.
Why hadn't she smelt him? She sighed and tried to sniff the air only to see he had blended with the natural air.
"When I told you this wasn't over, you really didn't think I was bluffing." The man sneered.
"Calm down." Davina said, her eyes zooming in on the dagger on Dave's neck.
The werecat smiled unruly and pressed it against Dave's skin causing the latter to hiss out in pain.
"Your problem is with me. There's no need to involve him." She said hurriedly.
"Yes, indeed you're my problem. But you are so clever. You know just how to evade me, thankfully, I found out about this buddy over here." The man muttered, glancing down at Dave.
"I thought you're a man, let's fight it out!" Davina yelled out seeing he kept applying pressure to the dagger on Dave's neck. Therefore making the wound deeper.
"The last time I tried that, you used my weakness against me. There's no way I'm gonna believe you won't use it again." The man snorted.
Davina always walked around with a piece of gold, so at that moment, she dipped her hand into her pocket and took out the one in her pocket. Then flung it away.
"There you go." She muttered locking eyes with the man.
"Empty your pockets." The man ordered and she did just so, taking out everything in it.
Afterwards, she yanked out the insides of her pocket. "See, it's really finished."
The man stared at her for a few seconds before nodding. He released his grip on the dagger, then pushed Dave away. Then for an unknown reason, he said. "I'd advise you to run."
Dave was too anxious and scared. He stared towards Davina in panic. The first time they had encountered the man, he knew things were far from what he imagined.
"Run Dave! I'll be right out." Davina assured, but the man didn't look like he wanted to listen to her.
"I'd go get help, I promise." The man assured and ran out.
"What a sweet little soul you got there." The werecat chuckled.
Davina stared at him and snarled. "You've got guts."
The next moment, her eyes flashed red and the man was taken aback for a split second. "You're an Alpha? How can an Alpha be so weak?"
"Bad things happen to good people. Haven't you heard of that before?" The lady replied, rushing towards him.
For a fact, Davina had already been weakened by her father and would remain weak if she couldn't mate with Dave. So the werecat had the joy of beating her up.
"I ask again, why exactly are you an Alpha? You look as weak as an ordinary werewolf." The man said, walking to the end of the room and bent over to pick up a rusted rod.
Davina watched him and spat out blood. "They're some things you're not supposed to ask. Because they're capable of putting you in trouble."
"Trouble?" The man laughed mockingly. "I've been causing trouble my whole life and I always escape."
He walked towards her and pushed her to the ground. The lady fell flat, but clutched onto her side which was hurting terribly.
"Killing an Alpha is gonna be my biggest achievement!" The man grinned.
"Don't you think you're celebrating too soon?" Davina asked.
The man stared at her in surprise and was about to say something when something hit him at the back of his head.
He had let his guard down as he wasn't expecting anyone to show up, so he staggered forward before regaining his stance.
His eyes shot up at the man who he didn't think would return. Dave on the other hand, threw away the club in his hands and ran towards Davina.
He helped her up. "There's no signal around here. I couldn't even drive out as my car tires had been punctured."
"This seems like a thoroughly planned thing. How did you know we were coming?" Davina asked the werecat.
"I've been following for some time, Barbie." The man chuckled. "I know you were intercepted by Jackson, so I used the opportunity to set up all these traps."
"Oh, that's how it is." The lady sneered in disdain. "You're not that impressive after all."
"Is that coming from someone who would've been dead a few minutes ago? So funny!"
"Well, what can I say?" Davina smiled. She looked down at her stomach where she was clutching to see the man had stabbed her with something. Mercury!
No wonder she was feeling extra weak. "You're indeed despicable."
"I learnt from the best." The man muttered and advanced forward. However, a chilly glance from Dave sent him rooted to the ground.
"Ok, that was unexpected. I thought you said he won't transform now and I have nothing to worry about!" The man yelled at his cat.
His car was rather silent as he seemed to be observing the situation. "I don't know what went wrong, but he really isn't supposed to show any of these signs from my hypothesis."
"Guess what? Your hypothesis was wrong and this dude won't let me off!" The man gritted his teeth.
"But he was weak just a few minutes ago. What went wrong? Or could it be...?" His cat trailed off and went silent.
While the man was visibly scared by Dave's countenance, Davina stared at him with excitement.
If he could become what he truly is, won't her life become better.
"He isn't that strong at the moment. If you give it your best shot, he'd be a piece of cake for you." The man's cat's voice came up.
The man tilted his head to look at Davina And then at Dave, then grinned. "Two stupid Werewolves can't stop me."
Davina grabbed hold of the mercury stuck in her stomach and pulled it out. Fresh, red blood rushed out of the opening.
Dave's eyes turned cold at the sight of it. Without warning, he rushed up at the man and just like the other man's cat said, Dave was extremely weak and had no idea how to use his new found ability.
After getting provoked and beaten up a number of times, Davina couldn't bear to see the sight any longer and hurled herself at the man. Unfortunately for her, the werecat turned and kicked her on the abdomen, hurling her away from him. She crashed into a wall, caving it and blacked out.
Seeing this, Dave's eyes darkened and his eye color changed. One red and the other golden, before he went on all fours.
Right before the werecat's eyes, he transformed to an extremely good looking wolf with shiny, golden fur. Then he growled loudly.
A man who had been outside the building, heard this and frowned. He tossed aside the cigarette he held and rushed into the building.
He trailed the growling and stopped outside the master bedroom. His eyes widened in horror at the sight he saw.
However, due to the intensity of the situation, the two men failed to realize someone else was watching them.
"What explanation do you have for this!" The man yelled at his cat frantically.
"Relax. He's still as weak as before." His cat replied calmly.
With that assurance, the werecat also transformed and battled with Dave.
Seeing Dave was bound to be beaten to death, the man outside felt it was necessary to intervene.
Seeing someone else had taken his place, Dave turned around and grabbed hold of Davina with his teeth before running out of the room and house.
