Isabella Not Giving Up

1263 Words
Davina stared at the lady who had crashed outside the ring and vomited blood, but couldn't get up. Davina smirked wickedly and proceeded to walk outside the ring to meet Isabella but was stopped by Jonas. "You're standing in my way." Davina frowned and looked up at him. "I think you should stop the duel now." The man said with pursed lips. "It's a duel. We're expected to fight until the other gives up and dies." Davina replied. Hearing her, Isabella trembled with fear. She wasn't ready to die yet. She had only said she wanted a duel as she thought she would win. Who knew the junior who appeared weak in her eyes could be so powerful. The supervisor who had sworn not to intervene stood up and cleared his throat. "I think so too." "So you all are saying I should let her go? Let me ask you a question. If I was the one in her condition, would you also vouch for me this way?" Her question was met with silence. She chuckled and said. "It's alright. I'd let this slide on one condition. You give my partner and I her position." Her request was once again met with a dead silence. "Are you gonna do it or not?" No one said anything once more. With narrowed eyes, she pushed Jonas out of her way and rushed towards Isabella. It was already too late for anyone to intervene as she directly raised one of her legs and was about to slam it on Isabella's ribcage. "Wait! I'll do as you say!' The supervisor muttered through gritted teeth. Davina smiled. "She'd also be demoted.' Isabella's eyes widened as she thought of her painstaking effort to get to where she was. "Isn't that too much?" Jonas frowned. "It's that or her dead body." It was something no one expected to happen. Not only had Isabella humiliated herself, but she had also been demoted. After the duel, Isabella could be seen walking down the streets still feeling immense pain from her near death experience. "How could that brat defeat me with such ease! I was even planning on taking it easy on her but it looked like she was having fun beating me up!" she cursed angrily. Isabella stopped and inspected her body to see if she missed any injuries. "Argghh!" she found another bruise at the back of her head. "Even while we were at it, it didn't feel like I was fighting a human. I was so overpowered! Won't be surprised if she has charms to aid her during that fight but it wasn't normal especially the look in her eyes." she soliloquized. "I am her superior, there is no way I'll let this slide when someone as low as her gets to win a duel against me with no effort!" "I'll have to resort to any method to get back at her!" she screamed and her voice resonated throughout the quiet alley. Suddenly, she was struck with an idea, she grinned. "Well well well. I don't see myself losing in the next fight. That old lady better be home when I visit her." She laughed almost like a psychopath that had killed each of her victims successfully. Isabella walked past some old looking trees and plants that looked like they had been poisoned for years. "I'm finally here." she whispered happily. In front of her was an old house which is the perfect definition of do not trespass. For some odd reason, a black cloud kept still above it and never moved, making the house look even more dark and creepy than it already was. Isabella smirked and scoffed. "Well, it's to be expected from an old sorceress." She opened the door with no sign of fear. Of course this is an old acquaintance. She walked in and what looked like something out of the depths of hell was an old lady with no eyes and taking a closer look, you could see a green substance oozing out from her eyes. She had a surprisingly neat, black cloak, but her fingers were not human like with her long fingernails. Even though blind, she sensed the presence of someone in the room and turned to the exact direction Isabella stood. "It's been a while since you've come to say hi." the sorceress said softly. "Yes, it's been a while and nothing seemed to have changed in the wretched home." Isabella replied. "The fact we are familiar with each other shouldn't give you the guts to say bad things about my beautiful sanctuary." The sorceress said but not in anger. She smiled which revealed that she had no teeth. Isabella rolled her eyes but still kept quiet about it cause even though close, she knew the powers of the old lady. "Well, I'm sure you know why I'm here." The old lady chuckled softly. "Of course I know why you're here. Isn't it because of the fact that you're weak and possess little to no strength against the lady you fought with today?" Isabella scoffed. "That lady wasn't normal. She had immense strength that I couldn't parr with. It felt...it felt like I was fighting a beast." "beast you say. Well, since I know little about your opponent I'm unable to know what lies within her that grants her such strength, but I do know that she isn't normal." the old lady said. "Is there anything you can do to help me win against her and gain my respect back?" Isabella pleaded, taking a seat on the wooden stool a little farther from the woman. The old lady laughed for some time. "I wasn't named blood fallen sorceress for nothing." "Let me make something for you which would grant you triple the strength of that girl. I'll just need your blood for this potion." the old lady said. Isabella was willing so she presented her blood and the old lady started calling out spells to the pot, dropping numerous potions that Isabella couldn't keep track of. During the call of the last spell, her missing eyes came back and the greenish substance she had on her eye socket came pouring down into the potion, her hair rose upward revealing the true enchanting sorceress that she is. "It is ready." The old lady said and her previous look vanished, replaced by the revolting one. She gave her the potion and what seemed like a grin on Annabella's face turned to a laugh of victory. The old lady joined in and they laughed together. Upon being granted the will to survive, Isabella didn't take it seriously as she thought everything happened due to coincidence. "Oh, she won't know what hit her! I can't believe I could get this level of power." she squealed. But looking closely she saw someone else. Fortunately for Isabella, Davina hadn't gone with Tabitha as she had something important to talk to Dave about. Memorizing the spell the sorceress had given her, she hurled the ball of fire which had come up at them but unexpectedly, it fell to the ground without doing anything. Isabella narrowed her eyes and did it again but still got the same result. Unknown to her, Davina had gotten sight of the ball of fire and was currently looking in her direction. "She doesn't want to learn." Davina shook her head. Then she turned to Dave. "Let's call it a day partner." Dave nodded but didn't forget to ask. "You still haven't told me you defeated her." Davina smirked. "That's for you to figure out."
