"So right now we're murderers." Dave said in disbelief whilst watching the news with the other two ladies.
"Not only that. You're either to be killed on sight, or dragged to the station if you don't resist." Tabitha hinted.
"Killed on sight?" Davina scoffed. "They haven't even ascertained if we really have a hand in the murder."
"Same thing I thought. It seems someone is instigating them. Someone who wants to get rid of the both of you." Tabitha added then turned to look at the duo squarely. "That reminds me, how are you two gonna deal with Jackson? I heard he signed an agreement with you two."
Dave's eyes lit up instantly. "That's true! If we can clarify ourselves to Jackson, he might help us! Why didn't I think of this earlier!"
"Your brain functioned well then. It's been corrupted now." Tabitha tsked.
"Huh? It sounds like a good idea!" The man said in doubt.
"To you, yes, but Davina and I both know that man is always up to no good. If I might ask, did you go through the agreement you signed?" Tabitha asked Dave.
"Agreement I signed? I didn't think it was necessary so I didn't bother." The man retorted.
Tabitha couldn't believe her ears and stared towards Davina who shrugged. "He trusts the man so much!"
Tabitha scoffed and got up. She walked towards her wine cellar and took out a red wine with three glasses.
She brought them down on the table, then took her time to pour some liquid into the.glass cups. "First of all, Davina, if I didn't know better I'd say the moon goddess hates you! This man is goddamn dumb!"
Although Davina loved to ridicule Dave, she kinda disliked it when someone looked down on his intelligence too. One of the reasons why she agreed to have a duel with Isabella.
"No matter what you say, I want you to remember his position." She simply said.
Tabitha raised both hands in surrender before taking two glasses to them. "Fine, I'm sorry. But I'm thinking how you'd pull this off with him. Unless he's...gonna get his powers back."
"Powers? Does she mean the one I displayed back at your place, Davina?" Dave butted in.
Davina nodded without looking at him, while Tabitha got ready for a tale. "Come to think of it, I haven't found out what really happened that day."
"We're in dire danger, Tabitha. That tale might be the last one I tell before I die."
"At least I get to hear your own part of the story and avenge you." Tabitha replied, unrelenting.
"Fine. The werecat visited Dave and I that day. I took a risk that day and refused to transform as I wanted Dave to make a move first. Luckily, he did. Unfortunately, the werecat realized he couldn't win and retreated. Before he did, he killed a family of four which we stumbled into their house and ran off." Davina briefly summarized.
"Oh, I get it now. No one saw the werecat go in neither did anyone see him get out. You're really screwed."
"Now you know, what do you suggest we do?" Davina sighed.
"Well, the police are closely on my tail. They've got eyes everywhere watching me so I can't go to certain places lest I expose you."
"The cops are tailing you? Why don't you just get rid of them?" Davina asked in confusion.
"Really? If I get rid of them how would you enact your revenge? Besides, I haven't gotten a reason to act. They're not stopping me from doing anything."
"We're not just running from the cops, we're running from Werewolves too!" Dave suddenly said.
Tabitha's heart skipped at that. "You what? Was that the reason I couldn't reach you a few days ago? Which of them did you come across?"
"It's bad Tabitha. We came across Gregor." Replied Davina, lowering her head.
"Gregor? That detestable Lycan! f**k!" The latter replied.
"You can't keep running. One of these people would catch up with you and neither of them would take it easy on you." She breathed out seconds later.
"So what do you suggest we do?" Dave asked nervously.
"I believe someone heard the fighting in your house that day. Someone must have seen the werecat leaving the house. These are just my assumptions, so for the meantime, comb the street and try to sniff out someone. If we don't find any, we'd have someone play the role."
It sounded like a good plan so the duo nodded, but they were still far from being rest assured.
"This is where I come to cool off sometimes. I have a basement but can be transformed into a room for you to stay in. The cops might barge in anytime to conduct a search." Tabitha yawned, her eyes catching sight of someone eavesdropping on them.
Davina also noticed it too and wondered who the unfortunate human was. "For the meantime, you two will have to disguise as my workers to get suspicions off you."
"What about our faces?" Dave asked.
"I'd create a fake identity card for you. Also the resume that you supposedly submitted to me in order to secure your jobs." The woman replied and glanced at her time.
"I should leave now. I'd order for uniforms to be delivered to you."
"Thank you very much, Tabitha."
"It's Mom to you." Tabitha yawned with a sly smile before leaving to deal with a particular 'pest'.
Just like she thought, the servant who had been eavesdropping on them got to a secluded part of the house and dialed the cop's number.
However, before it rang, a figure sprang behind her and sank her fangs on the latter's collarbone.
It took her less than a minute to drain the blood out of the maid's body. She stretched her hand and took the phone in her hand, then hung up.
Seconds later, she glanced at the men outside the house and smiled seeing them clutching onto their ears.
