Tabitha Going Berserk Again!

"They were known for being really strong. Even Lycans are no match for them. Under their rule, the Werewolf world was doing quite well and peaceful. However, 25 years ago, something tragic happened." She suddenly paused and stayed mute for a long time. Dave who was becoming immersed in the story with his eyes closed, suddenly opened his eyes and stared at her with a frown. "I'm not asleep. You can go on." He hurriedly said thinking she had mistaken his position for falling asleep. Davina glanced at him and shook her head slightly. Then she continued. "There was betrayal. Someone had betrayed the Golden Furs and leaked out the one and only weakness they had. They had no idea of this betrayal, thus when the enemies came, they were taken out in a single swoop." Dave narrowed his eyes, finding the story a little familiar. However, at the moment he couldn't wrap his finger around where he had heard it from. "They deserve to be recounted in history class." Dave said with a sigh. He was no stranger to the ongoing fight by Werewolves and humans. The latter felt repulsed by the hairy creatures while the others...well, he had no idea what they thought. "Do Werewolves hate humans like they say?" He suddenly asked. Davina, who was regretting pouring all the content of the coffee for Dave, looked up at him. "Some do." "Why?" "They hate us first. We're only returning the favor, but we refrain from killing them because they're way too weak for us." She said and sighed. It was the first time he had heard her sigh in such a way and suspected something was up. "You sound disheartened, if I may ask, why?" "Humans are way too weak and that's why other bad creatures prey on them. Then they generalized that all Werewolves and Vampires are the same two. Isn't the thinking alone pathetic and weak?" The man was tongue-tied as he didn't want to shoot himself on the foot. Years ago, he also shared the same view. A Werewolf had pounced on a classmate of his some years ago and tore her to pieces. Frightened, they had all taken to their hills. If he hadn't met her, his belief of all Werewolves being bad would have remained. He cleared his throat unhurriedly. "Well, you don't have to conclude. A lot of humans have seen their friends, classmates and family members being mauled to death by Werewolves." Davina said nothing in reply. After a few minutes, the man asked. "The history of the Golden Fur Tribe, how did you know about it?" The lady who was tapping her fingers subtly on her laps, stopped. Her gaze flickered before she said. "It was my...father." "Your father? I've never heard you talk about him. And your mother too." Dave smiled grimly. Davina cast a look at him before getting up. She strode over to him and informed. "What happened a few days ago is called mating and what you did while we were still in Gregor's hand is called marking. Werewolves have mates, and I am your mate." "Huh?" Her words were a little bit confusing to him. But before he could ask any question, she walked away. He didn't call her back as he noticed her change of mood. Almost immediately, Tabitha emerged with a plate of fruits. "I waited more than I thought I would." She chuckled. Then she glanced at where Davina had walked out through. "Did you guys quarrel or something?" Dave had also realized something and his eyes darken. He glanced up sharply at Tabitha. "Did you know about this?" Tabitha refused to be shocked as she stared squarely at him before asking half-heartedly. "Know what?" "Know that we're mated? Davina and I?" "If I didn't know, I won't bother knowing you." The man narrowed his eyes as he pondered at her words. Then he suddenly laughed out. "So you two were just using me. From the look of things she just needed me to mate and mark her and here I was thinking I've found a genuine friend!" Tabitha said nothing. She dipped finger into the plate and took out a sliced piece of apple, then plopped it into her mouth. "You two tricked me! I bet your name isn't even mom!" The man hollered. This time, Tabitha had an amused expression as she occupied the seat Davina previously sat on. "How could my name be mom? How ridiculous can you be?" She mused. Angrily, the man got to his feet and walked toward the door. The next second, he saw her standing in front of him. "H-how did you get from there to here?" She grinned and her elongated canine surfaced. The man's brain jolted and he subconsciously took a step back. Her smile grew to a sinister one as she kept approaching him. Just before she pounced on him, she regained a grip on herself and turned around. "Get out! Now!" Dave, who was already scared out of his wits, nodded and ran towards the door. Slipping and falling as he did. Tabitha dabbled around the place, looking for somewhere free from humans. Unfortunately, an enticing smell of blood soon crept into her nose. Her system took control and she walked around the place like a zombie. She soon stopped and peeped at a maid doing her job. She glanced around her twice before lunging forward. Fortunately, she was pulled back and turned around, her elongated fangs came in contact with a pale, succulent flesh. Davina hissed in pain. Tabitha on the other hand sucked on her blood, her red eyes returning back to normal. The maid who had just narrowly escaped death, seemed to sense a presence behind her. But when she turned around, Davina had ducked into a room with Tabitha clinging onto her like a second skin. "I'm sorry." Tabitha said hoarsely a few minutes later. Davina merely nodded as she looked her best friend over. "I thought it was gone." "I thought so too. Turns out we were both wrong." Tabitha said and laughed dryly. She recalled Dave had been frightened out of his wits. "Where's Dave?" "Dave?" Davina frowned looking back at Tabitha. "I left him in the courtyard. I had to go clear my head. Did you not meet him there?" Tabitha lowered her head guilty. "I did, but my addiction kicked in and he happened to be there. In fact, he narrowly escaped being my prey." Davina stared at her in horror. "You'd have died on the spot! Golden Furs aren't people you should mess with, even their blood is poison to some people." "Really? Then why do I feel fine drinking yours?"
