I woke up in the middle of the night profusely sweating and panting for breath. Nanunuyo ang lalamunan ko kaya sinubukan kong bumangon para uminom ng tubig pero may pumigil na mga braso sa bewang ko. Owen is also awake and is now looking at me with worry.
“Are you okay? What do you need? I’ll get it for you,” ang nag-aalala nitong tanong at hinawi ang buhok ko paalis sa noo na basa na sa pawis.
I stared bewilderedly at Owen particularly at his eyes. Biglang bumalik sa akin ang nakaraan na napanaginipan ko. The days, months, and years I have suffered because of how I lose our baby while he is with Cathe having no idea what I had gone through. I remembered how he felt so happy on their engagement night while caressing Cathe’s baby bump. And now… he’s here with me.
