My father looked at us in disbelief. I could see he felt sorry for me.
"Dad, Kaiden will stay for dinner."
"Of course. But do you want to go, son?"
"I don't want to go, but my father said that is not my choice as I'm not 18 yet."
"I see."
"I'll come back to Serena as often as I can."
He nodded. I made dinner while they sat in the living room and watched football. When I was ready, I told them to come, then we ate dinner quietly. After dinner, we sat in the living room and watched TV for a while. When it was late, Kaiden stood up and said bye to my father. I walked out with him.
"Will you open your window for me tonight?"
I nodded.
"Of course."
"I'll be back shortly."
"Okay."
He kissed me and left. I went back to the house to take a shower, but my dad stopped me.
"Serena."
I turned to him.
"How are you?"
"What do you think?"
He pulled me into a hug.
"If you truly love each other, then you will get through it. If you don't, then it's better to get over it sooner than later."
"I know dad."
"If you need someone to talk to, I'm always here for you darling."
I smiled.
"Thank you dad."
"I love you sweetheart."
"I love you too."
Then he let me go. I walked up and took a shower. I was in my bed. I was deep in my thoughts when I heard knocking on my window. I've let Kaiden in. We started kissing. We hugged each other passionately and ended up in bed. We made love again, then we just hugged each other without a word. The next day was our last day.
We spent it together. We went to our secret place. Then in the evening he came again to spend the night with me. We didn't really sleep, just made love and hugged each other. The morning came too soon, and he needed to leave. He got up, I watched him get dressed, and finally he pulled me into a tight hug.
"I'll call you as soon as I arrive."
"Okay."
"I love you, Serena."
"I love you too, Kaiden."
He bent down to kiss me. Then, with a sudden movement, he pushed me away and jumped out the window. He left a wild blue flower on my window sill. He looked deep into my eyes and left. The only thing I felt was emptiness. Even if he promised me he'd come back and we'd stay together, a voice deep inside my mind whispered to me that we had just broken up. I talked to my dad about letting me stay at home for a few days. I just needed a little time to get through this. He understood and said I can stay as long as I feel that is needed.
Kaiden - Moving to Manhattan
When our plane departed, I felt my heart broken to pieces. It really happened. I left. I left the place where I grew up, I left the girl who I loved and left my best friend Eclipse. I told everyone it doesn't matter how he's behaving, they cannot touch him with the whip. I really hoped that he wouldn't get hurt just because of his attitude.
My father tried to speak to me, but I refused. I felt like I was never going to forgive him.
We landed on time. And my new life started immediately. A man in a suit was waiting for us. He greeted us with respect. A black Bentley waited for us. But what really made me feel bad was Manhattan.
After the clear air, it smelled horrible and I honestly felt bad to see those many people on the streets. We went to San Antonio sometimes, and actually I felt the same there. It took us about half an hour to arrive at the huge building. We went in and a doorman greeted us. My father nodded to him and we went to the elevator. We went to the 42th floor. When we stepped out, I was surprised. I thought there would be a corridor or something, but it was the flat itself. It was huge and luxurious. A woman in uniform greeted us.
"Mr. Caldwell and Mr. Caldwell, welcome. My name is Helen. I'm the housekeeper."
"Helen, a pleasure to meet you."
My father said," I only nodded. She's got gray hair. I think she was about 50. She looked kind, but I had no intention of being kind to anyone.
"Helen, would you be that kind to show Kaiden his room?"
"Of course sir."
I looked at my father without saying a word and followed Helen. She kept smiling at me. I know it wasn't really fair from me to be sullen as it wasn't her fault, but I couldn't help it.
We arrived at a door and she opened it and stepped to the side to let me walk in. On one wall there were nearly only windows. They were huge. The room was huge.
The main colors were black and white. It had a corner that was like a living room with a black sofa, there was a king-sized bed, a huge LED TV on the wall. I had a bathroom that was connected to the room. It's got the same colors. It had a modern and big shower, a big bath, huge mirrors and a toilet in a separate room. Also there was another room connected. That was for clothes and shoes. It was fully filled.
"Mr. Caldwell, if you would like to have anything, just let me know."
"I just don't want to be disturbed."
I said and she nodded. Then left. I threw my coat down and sat on the sofa. I looked around and I couldn't believe that this is the place where I have to live from now on. I missed nature already, the clean air, the grass, the trees. I just watched the busy town through a window from that high and I felt horrible. I felt like I'd lost my freedom. Then I had a thought. I took my mobile phone out and dialled the number. The call was connected in a few seconds.
