With a loud roar the beast charged towards them at top speed. When all hope of survival seemed lost, one of the bats came over and sat on the wrist of Grendale and pecked at one of the stones. He looked down and realized that it was pointing at the bomb spell and immediately understood what he had to do.
Quickly without wasting time he muttered the bomb spell and conjured a big bright bomb. Aiming to the ground in front of the beast he flung it and the bomb smashed into the floor. The beast without noticing the bomb neatly stepped on it and....
BOOOOOMM!!!!!!
The beast few off to the ceiling and smashed into it with a loud c***k. With a loud thud it fell to the floor unconscious. "Phew. That was close", exclaimed Grendale wiping off the beads of sweat and sunk to the floor of the lift. Master Shifu was right, the spell really did drain his energy.
But there was no time to linger around, the beast could wake up anytime. With great difficulty Grendale got up struggling for balance under the strain. He pressed the buttons again, still the lift was out. The motor which ran the lift up and down had dried up without fuel from a long time.
What to do now? How to get outta here?. Grendale thought for a moment and looked around. There was ropes which he saw inside the vault, there were many big rocks here and there and torch baskets. What could he use to get back up?.. Thinking for a minute an idea flashed to him.
If he could just round up all the rocks and tie them together and hoist it to the ceiling and then tie the other end of the rope to the lift then because of the weight of the rocks they could lift off.
Immediately Grendale got to work and hoisted up the rocks in no time. Tying the other end of the rope to the lift Grendale drew out his sword and started cutting the motor's tape for easy lift off. Halfway through he heard some stirring noise. He turned to the sound and was horrified to see the beast awakening. He fasten the cutting and finally snapped it free.
The lift shuddered and began the lift off. Before the beast could wake up completely they were lifting into the air. Slowly but safely they reached the floor of the dungeons of Elgamora. Climbing out of the hole Grendale continued onwards to the exit on the other side of the prison.
Continuing onwards he reached a big gate which was (obviously) closed. He looked around for a switch. Finding none he tried to force open the gates, even magic blasted it but nothing affected it. Grendale was thinking about trying something else when the bats came out to fly around. Grendale tried to stop them in case there were any hidden danger but the bats were simply having the time of their lives.
It was now that when Grendale jumped to catch them that he heard a faint echo of some hallow space under his feet.
What was there underneath him? Is this another trap?
