THE MARSH AND THE FLOATING ISLAND

651 Words
Looking back again Prince Koda wondered, " Was it really my imagination? But how can it be, I saw em' moving". Within a few moments they were near the exit which was unusually shining bright white and looked like some sort of watery wall. Shielding his eyes Grendale went ahead and touched the wall. BOOM! The light exploded and Grendale was thrown backward. The watery wall melted away to give way to a rough dirt road that lead to a lengthy marsh looking place. Picking himself up with the help of Goltimer, Grendale dusted himself and lumbered towards the what-was-once-looking-like-an-exit-but-turned-out-to-be-an-archway to the wide marshes. He carefully peeked outside and looked around. A low cool breeze blew against him giving a soothing feeling in his face. " Is everything ok?", Koda's voice came from inside. Grendale slowly nodded while still keeping on high alert. Careful watching his steps he went a little further to investigate and only when he was fully convinced that there wasn't any an danger, signaled to the rest to follow.  Leaping carefully on the holes in the ground the three were making their way forward when a loud !!SPLUSH!! freaked them out from behind. Grendale immediately drew his sword and covered the prince, looking for the source of the sound. " Sorry. my foot got sunk into the wet marsh. i am a bit...ahem.. heavy", the left side mud splattered and highly embarrassed Goltimer confessed. Although almost escaping a heart attack situation, the two boys burst out laughing. After a few 'heave-ho' s and finally sucking his foot out, the trio continued on the path stopping by here and there to check for snakes in the bushes. The path lead on further towards the west, going from a moist marshes to a very dry lands. Tired from walking so long, Prince Koda wiped his forehead and looked up and was momentarily stunned. " Hey guys. Did anyone else notice t'sun is missin'? Look at t'sky, it is just bright but no sun.". When all were wondering about this strange sight, Goltimer caught sight of something, " Hey look at that", he pointed to something a mile away. Far off they could make out something like a floating island with a pile of rocks in the center like the remains of a broken pillar. Approaching the floating island, the three came to an abrupt stop. why?... well, what would you have done if you happen to come across an island that's floating in the air right above a thousand mile down cliff edge which disappears into darkness?...  One look at it and Goltimer was like," Nope. Never happening." and straight off turned around to go back. Grendale and Price Koda were transfixed at this dangerous sight. " Woah! 'a't sure est deep. Ok lets move on before I faint ", Koda also turned about and followed Goltimer. Grendale was about to follow suit when he felt like something was pulling him back. He looked around but nothing but the freaky floating island was in sight. He resumed to go back but felt an even stronger pull. The more further he was moving away from the island the more pull he felt, until - " AAAAAH!!! Guys heeellllp....". Goltimer and Koda whirled around to find Grendale being dragged backwards towards the edge of the cliff. "Grendale!!!" Both screamed in unison and dashed towards him. They were both rushing towards him very fast but still we a little too far from him who was moving dangerously fast and closer to the edge. Grendale frantically tried to grab on to the ground to stop himself but all in vain, the ground was too rough and he was too fast. The edge loomed very close to his eyes. Is this the end of Grendale? Will Goltimer and Prince Koda save Grendale from the nearing death?  Find out in the next episode. Stay tuned.
