Jared POV
"The tribe never lies to me Mr Jared, so this is Mr Nelson's baby", he replied.
"We need to do a DNA test to make sure and confirm that this is Christof's baby", I said calmly, while taking a few steps towards him.
I stared at the baby for a few minutes.
"Are You serious!!! don't you have a heart Jared, look at this innocent onez don't you feel pity for her, her mother in the emergency room, and her father has not carried her in his arms, or has even looked at her properly. How can you be so heartless jared ?,", He said to me in anger
"You are just too weak Carlos, you feel pity for anyone this is not the way the world works. You need to be tough, or else you are gonna never be able to move forward",I said, giving a wicked smile. I had to now just convince Christof to do a DNA test.
"If I have to change myself for the world, I am happy to stay behind and where I am, I would not change myself for this world, i am happy with myself and where I am, because I am happy", he replied, turning his face away from me.
I knew what it was exactly so now, I felt bad for the baby, but what if this is not Christof's baby and they tried to give us someone else's baby saying that this is christof's baby. We couldn't trust anyone blindly. We had to confirm if this is Christof's baby. Carlos blindly trusts those people but I don't.
"I wish this is Christof's baby, because only this baby can bring back Christof's smile", I said to myself.
Carlos had kept the baby on his shoulders, so the baby was facing towards me, she smiled at me. I felt she was so cute, she had the most beautiful smile just like Christof, I wish this was Christof's baby. I smiled at the baby, and left the room.
I headed towards Christof.
His eyes were still closed.
I headed towards him, "don't you think you should do a DNA test, to confirm that this baby is yours".
He opened his eyes and he looked at me,"what do you mean Jared".
I sat besides, "you need to confirm if that is your baby Christof. You cannot trust those people", I said.
"I believe them, Jared, I know they are telling me the truth. That is mine and Addison's baby, when I carried her in my arms I could feel it. I felt an attachment with that little one. She is our baby Jared",He was looking straight into my eyes.
"Christof I know that is your baby, but why don't you just confirm it", I said.
"Okay fine, I will do a DNA test" he headed towards the room where Carlos was.
A nurse was along with us, and I followed them in the room.
"Carlos can you please give the baby to the nurse", Christof said while heading towards Carlos.
"Why sir, the doctors have already done all the tests which were needed?"He asked Christof with a confused look on his face.
"It's better to do a DNA test to confirm that she is mine and Addison's baby", Christof said with a calm voice while sitting on the hospital bed, so that the nurse could take his blood for the test.
"Sir she is your baby, why do you need to do a DNA test", he said while looking at me in anger.
"Why is he giving me this kind of look", I said to myself.
"Yeah I know she is my baby, but I want to just confirm, what's the harm in doing a test, it's fine and normal. So please give the baby to the nurse", Christof said to jared.
He handed the baby to the nurse, he caught the baby's finger while the nurse was removing her blood with a syringe.
She cried while the nurse was removing her blood.
I felt bad for the baby, I felt like stopping the nurse, but i couldn't because this was very important, we had to confirm if she was Christof's baby.
When the nurse was done he carried her in his arms and he began to rock her so that she would stop crying.
He took few steps towards my direction
While passing from me, he stopped beside me, "you are not doing the right thing with this innocent one", he said. While giving me an intense look.
It looked like only he cares for the baby,
I turned towards him, and I whispered in his ears so that Christof would not be able to hear us.
"Carlos, don't teach me what should I do, and what should I not",
He got out of the room.
I headed towards Christof, he was holding the cotton on his arm from where the nurse had removed his blood.
"You did the right thing Christof, we had to confirm if that is your baby", I put my hand over his hand.
Christof was looking sad and depressed.
"How is she, did the doctor say anything about her?",
"No nothing!!, The doctors are still treating her. I don't know what is gonna happen next Jared", he looked towards me, he looked so helpless, I have never seen Christof like this before.
"Christof!!, Please gather yourself. I am feeling so bad for you, I cannot see you in this state, where is my strong Chrsitof, who was very strong, not scared of anything" I looked at him with pitiful eyes.
"She is my weakness, Jared, I am helpless, I cannot do anything to save her. Jared, I couldn't protect her. What kind of husband am I?Who cannot protect his own wife? He lowered his head with tears in his eyes, a few drops of tears fell onto my hand, which was above his hand.
"I have never seen you cry Christof, this is the first time I am seeing you cry".
"Addison is my entire world, my entire life. I didn't hug or kiss my baby, she is unlucky to have me as her father.She should have been born in a nice hospital with all the amenities, but instead she was born in a little village "He stared at the ground while talking to me.
