The Baby Is Innocent!!!

Carlos POV

"When you were near your wife, the old woman told me everything, she told me that she took care of your wife,but she couldn't wake her",I replied.

"They are not professional doctors after all Carlos, so it's obvious they would not be able to give her that treatment, Addison needs treatment from professional doctors, not from tribal villagers Carlos", he told me.

"Yes you are right sir, your wife needs a professional doctor not tribal villagers to treat her, but don't you think sir, it's a miracle that they saved your baby, they are not professional doctors, your baby is healthy and fit and fine she doesn't look sick", I replied.

"Carlos let's not talk about the baby for now, because I am worried about Addison more than the baby, I want my wife to be okay, I want her to gain consciousness, I cannot see her like this unconscious", he replied to me

"I know sir you are worried more about your wife than your baby, you had already told me that your wife is more important than your baby", I replied back

"How can I forget that", I said with a low voice.

"Please keep silent Carlos" he said to me.

"Yes sir", "I won't say anything else now".

I said while looking outside the window. I thought to myself why is Mr Nelson ignoring his baby, what is his baby's fault in this, but it's his personal problem and I can't interfere in his personal matters.

I kept playing with the baby in the car, she was so adorable. Anyone would love to play with her, and carry her in their arms.

I was sad that Mr Nelson didn't look at his baby even once.

After an hour we reached the hospital, Mr Nelson carried his wife and rushed inside the hospital.

I paid the taxi driver, "thank you for helping us out, we would not make it on time here if you would not help us".

"It's fine sir, please don't thank me. It's my job to help my passengers to travel and to get to their destination", he replied with a smile.

I entered the hospital and I saw that Mr Nelson was sitting on a bench in the hospital.

I headed towards him and I sat beside him.

I placed my one hand on his shoulder, "what did the doctor say", I asked him.

Mr Nelson was sitting there helpless, I felt bad for him.

"The doctor said that I brought her later here for the treatment, it has been a long time since she was in coma, he asked me why am I late here", he replied with low voice.

"It's okay sir everything will get better", I said trying to make him feel better.

"When will things get better Carlos, everything is getting worse. I finally found her but she is in this state, she is not moving or talking to me. She is lying unconscious on that bed. She is helpless.

and you know what is much worse??, I can't help her. I can't get her out of this. I want to do something for her but I can't because it's not in my hands, nor can money help her Carlos!!!. It's just the doctors who can save", he replied.

"I can tell you sir how you can help your wife", I replied.

He faced towards me,"how can I help him?", he questioned me.

"By taking care of this little one whom she left here for you, before going into a coma, she told the old woman to take care of the baby, because she believed that you would come to save her and her baby. You will care for this baby. Sir what if your wife comes into consciousness, and she gets to know that you have not looked at your baby even once, or you have not hugged her in your arms. Will your wife forgive you for this? Will she be happy?", I told him, trying to make him understand.

Mr Nelson was now in a deep thought, "I hope he understands what I am trying to tell him", I said to myself, waiting for his reply.

"Yes you are right Carlos, Addison would not like this. She will get angry and she would be sad if I treat the baby like this. After all, it's my blood. It's my baby, and it's not the baby's fault, but Carlos I am not in the State To hug the baby now, I am so tensed", he replied.

"I know sir you are tense, but please don't punish this innocent one, by trying to push her away from you, she is very innocent just like an angel", I replied.

"All babies are innocent and they are angels, I know that Carlos", he said with a smile.

"Listen to me, I will call the nurse now, the baby stayed for a long time in that village, if she got any infection she needs to be treated, I want my baby to have a check up. I will call the nurse now to check my baby. You will keep a close watch on her. I am new here, I don't Know anyone here. I can't trust anyone, so please look after my baby, when things are settled i will take care of her, and then I will not need your help then", he replied.

"Yes sir, don't worry, I will take care of this little one. I will see to it that she is safe, and she won't have any problem sir, don't worry about the baby, I am there for the baby, and I will take care of her", I replied.

"Thank you so much Carlos, for taking care of the baby. You have helped a lot today, thank you so much", he said while keeping one hand on my shoulder.

"Please don't thank me sir, you called me your younger brother, so from now on I will take you as my elder brother. I will be there for you when you need me", I said while placing my hand on his shoulders.

The nurse headed towards me, "please follow me in room no 68", she said to me.
