Jared stood in the dark, cold night for a long time. His heart felt strangely quiet in the noisy night. The feeling of loneliness grew into his heart, branched into million pointed stakes. He stood at the edge of her memories, hoping to fall, wishing to never fall. He didn't know how to close this chasm that was opening inside him once again, he didn't know if it would be possible to ever fill it with something else that was not her. He wished, hoped she wouldn't just discard him. He was sure he couldn't take that. Not this time.
