I was right all along. It does seem like Xavier has feelings for me. I can see him staring at me without even trying to hide it. I can not help as I smile at him and then I wave. But then I see him breaking eye contact with me. I can not stop a frown falling on my face. Why would he do that? Then I hear a voice next to me.
"Lady Clara, I am sorry to bother you"
I am afraid to turn to look at the man standing next to me because I know it is Sir Robertson. I try to get my face as normal as possible when I say.
"Sir Robertson, I thought you were at your home already"
This is the very last person that I wanted to see today and now I am all dressed up. I realize that maybe Xavier thinks that I am dressed up for him and that is why he is not looking at me anymore.
