Conrad was a genius! I had no idea why I hadn’t thought about doing that, but I was impressed. Blaise was waiting for an answer from Veronica. I had to be honest, I was waiting too. I did think Veronica was ready, but something was holding her back, I just wasn’t sure what.
“I am ready!” Veronica argued, but even I could hear the uncertainty in her voice. What was she worried about? Surely this couldn’t all be about her mother. Could it? “I am ready,” she said again and this time I actually believed her. “I just… part of me was just worried about you,”
“But why?” Blaise asked curiously.
“Because I just moved in with you. I just…we just got used to being under the same roof again…I just wasn’t sure if it was ok for me to be moving this fast,”
