Conrad I could feel Callum’s anxiety, and it hit me hard. I hurriedly parked the truck next to my father’s and got out as I grabbed my weekend bag. I could see them sitting down by the dock, but I couldn’t hear anything. Cal looked over his shoulder and our eyes met. His eyes were red, puffy and he had been biting his lip. He was upset and that angered me as I dropped my bag and headed down toward them. Cal stood up, and my father looked over his shoulder. His eyes were also red and puffy, which confused the hell out of me. He stood up too, and then he laid his arm across Callum’s shoulders. “About time you showed up,” he called out. “Sorry, work,” I explained as I closed the distance.
