TWENTY SEVEN

The following day we woke up earlier than usual, we had to go to school, I was nervous at first, I didn’t know what to do, or what to feel, Pedro and I had missed school for almost two weeks and I didn’t know what was going on in school, I mean Elena had fed me in but I was anxious for only two reasons, first I was going back to school as Pedro’s girlfriend and second with what had happened in the previous week was eating me up that I didn’t know what next and what people were going to say after going back to school, I know the bullies were there, Molly and her squad, well I had grown more tough and I was sure I was going to beat them up to their own game, I wasn’t intimidated anymore by their presence

“Worried about your first day back at school?” Elena asked bringing me back from my reverie and I just nodded absently

“Not really, I just have a lot of things on my mind right now; I will get over them soon” I said as I picked my phone from the night stand, by the Elena had chosen an outfit for me, some black ripped skinny jeans, a black tube top, black bomber jacket and some black skater sneaks, we had gone to the salon the previous day so our hair was braided in long black braids but Talia chose brown, it is always hr favorite color, I know that sounds weird but that is my sister for you, always unique

As I picked my back pack I had a lot on my mind that I wasn’t even looking where I was going, I bumped into Pedro on the stairs and were it not for him, I would have fallen and crashed on the stairs

“Hey are you okay? You seem absent minded, what is wrong with you?” he asked as he helped me pick my back pack from the floor

“No, I’m fine don’t trouble yourself I was just not looking where I was going but I’m totally fine” I said trying to brush off the topic, I didn’t want to talk about it not with him either

“No babe, I insist, mind to tell m what is happening?” he asked with a concerned voice and I much as I hated lying to him, I just wanted to go downstairs, take my breakfast and head to school

“I said I’m fine really?” I said starting to get pissed off

“Okay, okay don’t be mad at me, I surrender, I know you are not okay but I will let you be, until when you will feel like you want to talk it out I will be here, like I have always been and you look beautiful today” he said as I blushed, I wasn’t used to him complimenting me but I think it was just the start, but I still felt bad for shouting at him and I knew he was going to understand everything

“Thank you” I said while smiling but Elena was quick to cut our moment short

“Hey all thanks to me, I’m the one that chose that outfit for her, she is always wearing baggy things so brother, all thanks to me” she said boastfully and we all burst out laughing, I mean, she was always an attention seeker, just like my sister Talia

“Okay, okay, we get it, you got the outfit for her, but the cloths are hers ad I was just appreciating how great she looks today, despite you also look great today, you all are, but remember my baby first” Pedro said ad I gave her a smirk

“Okay I get it, you two are in love, but I’m your sister” she said whining and I couldn’t help it, she was just being petty for nothing

“Okay I love you both but I love her more, now let’s get going before we get late to school” he said and we all followed him to the living room, their parents were ready for work and were waiting for us so we could take breakfast together

“Morning kids, I can see ya’ll ready for school, which is nice” Mr. Davidson said and we all nodded in response

We took breakfast in silence and after a few minutes, we all headed out, I thought we were going to take Pedro’s car to school but his mom stopped us midway before we had gone

“Hey wait, you will all be take to school by my chauffer, until we get down to all these enemies, ensure you are safe, that is when you will be allowed to use your cars, I hope I’m making sense?” she asked and we nodded, personally, I had no problem with that as long as I reached at school. “Ooh and Danny, here, these credit cards are yours, Talia, Elena and you, I deposited some cash for you all, that will help you at school” she said and my mouth hang, I mean she had gone to that that extend, the extend of giving us credit cards, something my own never did, I think our life was starting to take a different course

“Wow thank you so much” I said excited, in my whole life, I had ever owed a credit card before but she had made my dreams come true, and our life a paradise on earth

“No need to my dear, now go to school before it is too late” she said and I followed the rest to the black limousine waiting for us outside the house, we bid her goodbye and got into the car, we were all excited for the day, I think the day had just started so well

When we reached at school, we were at last twenty minutes early into the first lesson, the driver dropped us and promise to come for us in the evening after classes

The moment we stepped out, every student was looking at us as if we had just come from another planet, others were giving me that pity look and it was making quite uncomfortable, mixture of emotions, I was already getting pissed off, I mean it is not like I had grown some wings or horns for them to stare at us that much

Molly and her group were at the furthest end, staring at us and I was wondering why she hadn’t walked where we were, she was always throwing herself at Pedro but he was mine now, he had chosen me over her an d there was no way she was going to change anything, what was done, and I couldn’t just wait to mock her

Gina and Elisa came and offered their condolences before they took Talia with them; they were her friends so I saw no need of holding onto her anymore

“I will see you guys in the evening” she said as she proceeded to hug me then Elena and she then left, I was then left with Elena and Pedro but soon his friends showed up and he had to leave, we were walking towards our locker rooms

“It is good to see you man” one of the guys said as he gave Pedro a manly hug and the rest followed, they were four in total, I think Jayden’s friends too and speaking of Jayden we missed him the group but he was to come back the following week after his recovery

“Yeah feels good to be back, meet my girlfriend Danelya and my only sister Elena, you know them ,baby, Elena this are my friends, it is only Jayden that is not around but we hope to see him soon” he said as he introduced us

“Hmm…so you guys have been dating behind our backs, I thought we never hide anything from each other” the tall guy said and Pedro just brushed it off, we were all almost reaching to our lockers so Pedro excused himself , he kissed me and hugged Elena and promised to meet us in class

Just as I moved to my locker to put my books, Molly stopped in front of me, with her group behind her

“Listen here Molly I’m not in the mood for your dramas, I have a long day ahead” I said with my hands akimbo, actually I wasn’t expecting to start her dramas just on my first day at school, I was too calm but I had promised to slap the hell out of her if she dared piss me off

“Well I also don’t have the rest of the day with you, I came here to personally pass my condolences to you for the loss of your family” she said and I sneered

“I know that is not what brought you here, so say whatever you want to say and leave us alone” Ely said and Molly gave her a bored look

“I wasn’t talking to you dumbass, I was talking to her” she replied

“Well, I know you want my brother, Pedro, I know but sorry he is taken by the most beautiful and pretty girl I’ve ever come across and that is her, so get away from here or I will slap the hell out of you” Ely responded with smile and I couldn’t help it, I laughed and that kind of pissed of Molly, she clicked, she never liked it when someone challenged her, she always felt like she was the queen B of the school, but we were going to put her right where she belonged

“What did you just say?”

“Oh seems like you have developed a hearing problem, I said I will slap the hell out of you is you dare touch her, you disturb her, you are dealing with me and my brother, who is her boyfriend” Elena said and I just laughed, she was always a drama queen but what are friends for anyway?

“Ha-ha look at this confused b***h, when did Pedro become your brother?”

“Well the moment, my mom gave birth to me and it seems like you people are behind the news, I just gave a heads up just in case you hear any rumors, you got the first hand information from the horse’s mouth, now get the hell out of here, we are tired of seeing your ugly face, it is pissing me off white bimbo!” Ely said and the other girls giggled, a group had already formed and watching the free drama.

“And what are you laughing at?” she asked in shame and the rest of the students laughed even more louder, she was left with no choice than to walk away feeling defeated, just then the bell rang and we all rushed to our respective classes
