Chapter 7: I'm Sick of This

1127 Words
Angela’s POV I may not be as up front as Winter, but I will be damn if I let this pathetic beta kill us. This has gone too far. I take over from Karisma while she mentally holds Wonter back. I felt a surge of power flow through me as I took control. Power and strength like I had never felt before began to flow through our bodies. So much so that Winter even calmed down. It was a new experience for all of us. As I finished switching out with Karisma, the beta lunged for us again. For one reason or another… the bets seemed to be moving as if he were in slow motion. I kick up some dirt into the air, some of which lands right in his face. I then side-stepped and allowed him to ram right into the tree I was standing next to. Grabbing both of his back legs. I use all my strength to whip him around. I felt something pop before I released him. The beta then flew into the air and slammed into another thick tree. The tree then cracked and fell on top of the beta, pinning his wolf in place. “DADDY!” Tessa cried out as she ran to her father’s side. “You little b***h!” Roger snarled. He pulled out a small silver dagger from behind him. “I’m going to kill you.” He said as he ran towards me. I knew taking over would feel different, but I never knew it would be this different. Just like with the beta, he was moving so slowly, it was like watching him in slow motion as well. I don’t quite understand it, but I use it to my advantage. I grab him by his wrist and feel the bones crushing under my grip. Roger howls in pain as he not only drops the dagger, but he drops to his knees. New scents are coming towards us, so I let him go, but I kick him over towards the fallen beta. Looking towards where the scents are coming from, I see a few unknown wolves along with Papa’s and Uncle Eric’s wolves. A giant black wolf with white spots on the front paws runs right over to the beta before it turns and growls at me. I hiss before Papa’s wolf steps in between me and the other wolf. Without missing a beat. Papa shifts back and quickly pulls on some shorts that Uncle Eric tossed towards him from behind me. “Alpha Damian, let us talk this out like wise alphas.” Papa said. The sound of shifting happened before another deep voice answered back. “Talk this out?! That thing behind you just attacked my beta and the son of my gamma! I want her in chains.” Alpha Damian snarled. “It was self-defense!” I hissed back. “They set a trap for me, and then the beta shifted and attacked me.” The alpha growled as if to silence me, but his aura felt like a small breeze. “Don’t try to use your aura to make me submit. I am not in the wrong here!” I yelled. My voice carried a thunderous tone as the forest filled with a strong aura. I didn’t even know it was coming from me until Uncle Eric rested his hand on my shoulder. That was when I noticed that even though Alpha Damian was trying to fight it, he was baring his neck to me in submission. As I relaxed, so did he. Before anyone could say anything, someone else came up to us. A girl with bright blue eyes and soft pink hair. “Well, I was not expecting to see this. May I ask what is going on here?” She asked. Papa, Uncle Eric, and even Alpha Damian all dropped to their knees and bowed to the girl. “Miss Riley, that thing behind Alpha Philip injured my beta and the son of my gamma. I demand that we get retribution for this slight. This is supposed to be neutral territory, and she attacked my pack members.” Alpha Damian said. ‘Riley? That was Kai’s twin sister’s name.’ I thought. Karisma agreed with me. I felt a strong power coming off of Riley, but it also did not make me bow my head like Papa and the others were. Riley seemed to sense something was different. “I will look into the matter.” She said before snapping her fingers. A soft wind surrounded the beta and Roger, healing their wounds, but it also picked up the silver dagger and the bloody silver trap that were left on the ground. Riley pulled out a bag from her pocket, and it seemed to grow in size. The dagger and trap went in without her touching them. “For now, I will be taking these.” she said as the bag shrank down and she then put the bag back into her pocket. ‘It must be a magic bag.’ Karisma stated within my mind. Those were special bags that witches and warlocks could produce to allow one to travel without having to carry a lot. Hearing a throat clear made me look back up into Riley’s blue eyes. “I am also going to need you to come with me, Miss.” She said in a non-threatening tone. Papa stiffened before he bowed his head lower. “Miss Riley, please. I am sure there reasonable explanation for this. Please don’t take my daughter.” Papa begged. Riley looked over to him and gave him a small smile. “I agree that there has to be a good reason for all of this, but the matter is that your daughter has harmed ranked members of another pack on neutral territory. Such a matter must be handled with care.” She said as she approached me. “Therefore, you will simply walk out of these woods with me, no chains, no fighting. You will be taken to the Royal Moon pack and placed under house arrest until Lady Melody and her mates come to their judgment.” She said while looking me in the eye. She phrased it like I had a choice, but I could tell from her eyes that I didn’t. I nodded my head and closed my eyes. ‘Go ahead and take back control, Karisma. This girl means us no harm and will be fair.’ I don’t know why I knew that, but I know this girl would be fair to us. I felt a shift in control, and then I was back into the darkness of Karimsa’s mind. The darkness that I created for myself.
