Chapter Eight

849 Words
Roman's P.O.V Placing one arm under the thin legs and the other around the back I carry them up and over towards the nearest bed. Laying them down ever so gently I can see William hurriedly come to my side. His hands stretch out instantly to check the pulse. “You're right...they are alive. But just barely.” Swiftly I lift the unconscious being into my arms; standing upwards and quickly making my way over towards the flouting flatbeds. Once there I bend my body and gently slide the being onto the bed while William quickly moves around the room gathering all the medical tools he needs before making his way back over towards my side. Soon his hands are moving as quickly as they can to check all of the vitals. “Vitals are low Alpha. I need to work quickly to stabilize them. You'll have to step out” William says as he glances over at me. My brow furrows at the very thought of anyone being alone with this beautiful creature. My mouth opens to protest and to demand that I am allowed to stay but William just raises his hand up to stop me. “Please Alpha. I need the room if you want this being to live.” He pleads with me his eyes softening as he takes in my disgruntled form. A small sigh flouts out of my mouth. “Alright, I'll leave you to it.” With foot in front of foot, I slowly make my way out of the room; taking a quick glance back towards the being laying limply upon the sickbay bed. As I exit the room the door slides close and a long exasperated breathe leaves my partially opened mouth. That must have been the most beautiful creature I have ever laid eyes upon. Never have I seen such an otherworldly being as them before. Just so soft, small, and perfect; and Goddess what a smell! It has got to be the sweetest and most calming smell that ever filled my senses; just like honey and lilac. The same warm sensation starts to spread throughout my chest and makes its way to the rest of my body. I can feel my breath start to quicken at the mere thought of the being. “I better calm down before I go see the others,” I say aloud to myself as my eyes peer down at the long and thick growing tent within my blue tight pants. My cheeks heat up as the redness of the blush spreads across them all the way to my ears. Long minutes pass while I even my breathing and the tightness of my pants become looser. Turning I make my way back down the hall and towards the common room. Once inside the loud talking halts. Johan quickly stands. His eyes look earnestly up at me. “They're...still alive.” The words fall slowly from my mouth as my eyes scan the room at the crew. “Well, s**t, what now Alpha?” Quinn asks with his hands upon his hips. “All I know is if that fucker tries to eat me I'm going to blast its head off.” Oscar slurs while downing more alcohol. A loud growl escapes my mouth at the very mention of someone harming that beautiful being. The strange and urgent need to protect them rises inside of me. Johan quickly makes his way over towards Oscar and smacks him hard upside the head. Oscar squeals in protest as the loud smack of Johan's hand colliding with the back of Oscar's head rings out into the tension-filled air. We stand like this for what seems to be an eternity until a throat clears; cutting through the tension like a knife. “Are we heading back home now Alpha?” Hobs asks while cleaning off some of his tools at the round shiny black table in the middle of the room. My head snaps towards him and my expression softens. “I'm not too sure,” I answer truthfully. We can't head back yet not until I figure out why the High Alpha would want with these beings. “I mean what would the High Alpha want with a frozen creature anyways?” Quinn asks voicing my thoughts. “The High Alpha can go f**k himself for all I care. I mean what kind of sick s**t does he want to do with a couple of frozen stiffs.” Oscar snaps as he finishes the last can of the second box of alcohol. My teeth clench along with my hands as I try to contain the urge to go over there myself and punch Oscar in the face. I am so done with his drunken ass right now. With narrowed eyes, I pivot and make my way over towards the doors. “Alright, boys let's finish putting away our gear and get some shut-eye!” I yell over my shoulder at the rest of the crew before exiting through the door and down the hallway.
