The 5 Crystals

1165 Words
Stepping out of the portal, the team land was on a platform as originally. A diamond crystal, the size of a car, stood up in the center. "That's it," said Logan, "Once we break the crystals, Samael's power and influence will decrease". Vanessa sheathed her sword. She bounced on her feet while shaking out her arms. They were still in pain from battling Samael's statue. It didn't stop her. A rumbling sound was heard in the distance. Mina and Logan looked around while Vanessa continued prepping her body. No angels nor demons alike were coming. Yet, they couldn't figure out where the rumbling was coming. Logan called for the lion-faced dragon to teleport to the same area as for protection, using a portal it created, At first, there was no movement aside from Vanessa. But the ferret was facing the giant statue of Samael. "Vanessa, can you hurry up, please? Something's coming," cried Mina. Vanessa ran up to the crystal, kicking it to no end. Her kicks were powered with neutral energy which gave more power to her kicks. Additionally, each kick shot out a heavy burst of energy. The crystal weakened with each kick. It started white and was already faded to grey. A loud deep chuckle echoed through the mystic place, but couldn't break Vanessa's focus. "Is this really what the mortals have sent to defend them?" asked Samael in a calm confident tone. Logan clapped his hands and instructed Mina to keep dancing. He pulled his hands apart, revealing a set of digital controls behind. He smirked, informing Mina that things were going to get cool. The statue in the center rotated towards their platform. Logan pressed a few buttons on his digital pad, causing the dragon to charge its attack. Samael laughed as he swung his arm towards the platform. The dragon fired an attack at the nose of the statue. Unfortunately, there wasn't even a c***k. It was barely enough to halt the statue's movements. It was all Vanessa needed. She gave one last kick to the blacked crystal. It shattered into pieces onto the porcelain ground. The dragon was commanded to wrap around Samal's arm to hold off. This allowed the four to run into the portal. Samael aimed to punch the dragon to death. It slithered away in time given Logan had run out of the portal to continue the fight. Vanessa continued breaking the second crystal. A series of light orbs guarded the crystal against her. Logan quickly dispelled the light orbs to allow Vanessa to continue creaking the crystal. But when he faced Samael's giant statue, his palm was aimed at the team. A giant ball of light was about to fire on them. Vanessa grabbed Mina and ran with Logan to jump through the portal. They, along with the ferret, landed on another platform. Vanessa began kicking the crystal while Logan charged the lion-faced dragon's next attack. Samael walked over towards the platform with the dragon. He taunted the team as he did so. It was amusing to him. The way humans clung to nonsense. The dragon had a fully charged dark attack ready whereas Samael had a ball of light in each palm. The dragon waited for Samael to attack before it shot its dark energy ball at the crystal below. At first, Samael was confused as to why the dragon attacked them. When his body began cracking to reveal a light, it made sense to him. The dragon was a mere decoy to lure Samael to not attack the team. Also, in destroying the crystal, the giant statue of Samael took damage. Just when Samael thought he could attack again, his body cracked once more indicating they had destroyed the third crystal. His giant statue leaned over watching the cracks shoot through his body. The light inside shined brighter than any of the crystals themselves. In his fury, he searched through all of the platforms to find the team again. The dragon shot his eyes with an attack. It was in turn crushed against a platform. Despite it being pressed by Samael's ferocious hands, the dragon managed to slither out. Samael wasted no more time with the decoy. He shielded himself in a ball of light and expanded that ball. Vanessa broke the fourth crystal, but Samael was still expanded his attack across the area. Logan waited for the attack to expand past a platform with a portal before he teleported everybody safely. Afterward, he commanded the dragon to teleport to a safe area and prepare an attack. Samael finished his attack, realizing his intruders were still there. It was a hassle for him to fight in this form. Samael was after all an angel of God. He rested far away in another realm. The hosts he used could never do his real power justice. What's more, his real abilities were locked away. With only an ounce of life left, Logan commanded the dragon to dive in for a final attack on Samael. It was a dead giveaway. He grabbed the pathetic dragon and ripped it apart. Mina cried looking up as the dragon's body was tossed across the skies. Its blood rained down giving the land of the living nightmares for centuries to come. It was a punishment for the sins of mankind. The statue turned towards Logan and prepared a dark ball of energy. Logan stood facing Samael eye to eye as though he was an equal. Samael slammed his dark attack towards Logan, "I'll send you to the temple of the damned". His arm cracked off, falling to the side of the platform. Logan grinned, "Looks like you're gonna have to fight me with your primary host". His grin turned into a laugh as Samael's entire body fell apart. Logan felt immune to immune of blind to the light that shined from the fallen statue. But it wasn't a laugh of victory. Rather, a laugh of reminiscence. He recalled his younger days playing in level 5 events. They were always such a thrill. Now he rarely gets the chance to meet that thrill. Forced to play each day limited to the lack of driven players. It was fine for him given how the team was now shaping. After calming himself down, Logan ran into the portal to join his three teammates. Vanessa was in need of a rest. Mina's healing auras worked well. But Vanessa was actually exhausted. Logan checked the portal realizing a timer was set for them to battle Samael one last time. It was only a few minutes, but they knew to take advantage of that time. They stretched and moved to keep their bodies well until they were fully prepared. It was the final host before they could bring Mina to the guardian angel. Logan even equipped a suiting set of abilities for it and began prepping his final attack.  Ready to give it their all, the team stepped in to battle Samael, one last time.
