IRIS I was still sitting on Ronan’s lap when everything changed. I was waiting for him to finish speaking to whoever he was, worried about what had gone wrong. The next thing I knew, I was being lifted gently and set on my feet. “Ronan?” I frowned, my fingers catching his sleeve. “What is going on?” He didn’t say anything right away. His back was to me now, shoulders drawn tight and then he turned. “Mary is gone.” The words didn't make sense at first and I just stared at him, my mind still processing. "Gone?" I repeated. "What do you mean, gone?" "Missing." He was already moving toward the door, already reaching for his jacket where it hung on the rack. "Martha went to check on her and found her bed empty. No one saw her leave." My first thought was Silverfang. They had found her. B
