Haisley fussed with her hair in the mirror. She was nervous about just showing up to their grandparents’ home unannounced. Kai passed by the bathroom and noticed Haisley inside. Leaning against the door frame, he said, “You look fine, Hae Bae.”
“Not looking for an ego boost, Kai Guy,” she said.
“You don’t have to be nervous,” he said.
Haisley sighed. “You don’t really know my grandparents. Or the rest of the family,” she pointed out.
Kai shrugged. “Not sure I care about what they think, honestly.”
