Before Laura could deliberate his question, the king raised another point.
“The investigations could go two ways. One, they get warned and put a stop to it, if not slow it down. Or two, they go ahead and push through with an actual rebellion, if that’s what they’re really planning.”
Both Samuel and Laura turned mum. They couldn’t tell the king that a rebellion is actually going to happen and this might really be the beginning of it. For a moment, they exchanged a look.
“Are you prepared for either situation?”
