Ember feels the phone in her pocket vibrate but doesn’t even get a chance to look at it. As soon as she stepped past the school gates she knew that something was wrong. If it was obvious to Kai, how could it not be obvious to her?

She didn’t have much of a clue before she got to this point. School is a hard one, there are always so many wolves present and their scents overwhelm the human scents, so approaching it, she didn’t realize it. Maybe she just wasn’t ready for an ambush within the school grounds.
