Chapter 8

Wane's Pov: "Cassandra!" I shouted as loud as I could. My voice echoed in the empty halls. I growled in anger. I focused my hearing for over a few distance, and there, I could hear her giggling. I could feel my veins popping with anger. I could feel my eyes turned bloodshot. In one swift I moved room to rooms, searching for Cassandra. I could hear her giggles in the further hallway. "Show yourself while I'm being nice!" I shouted again. I could feel my fangs showing. And there I saw her running towards the end of the hallway. I moved fast and in just one sweep, I managed to move 5 meters from where I was standing. The Palace is her playground. It makes it hard to find here when she doesnt want to be found. But in this case, I know she's purposely making me angry. "Cassandra!" I groaned in anger as I caught her by her neck and pushed her against the wall. I could see and hear the wall cracking because of the force of the impact. "Br--brother" She tried to talk while chocking. Her 13 year old body soon transformed into a 25 year olds body. She enjoys taking taking potions that would make her look a child and fool adults in the human world. She is one mischievous, manipulating woman. "I told you to stay away from her," I said angrily while slowly saying the words so she could understand. She gave me a smile, the one she does when she know what I am talking about but will choose to deny it. "What do you mean?" she tried to say. she held my hand attempting to loosen my grip from her neck. shes hanging by the wall and the only thing stopping me from tearing her apart, is that she is my sister. "Aubrey almost got in trouble because of you! The red ones must've followed your scent to her!" I said in spite. I abruptly let go of her neck and she fell down the floor coughing and catching her breath. she looked at me with piercing eyes, as if digging into my soul. But that doesnt work on me. I growled in anger. She stood up and looked at me fiercely while smirking as if teasing me before answering. "And how is that my fault?" she answered in sarcasm. It made me clench my jaws. "Do not test my patience!" I hissed at her. Her smirking face was gone. I know she is somewhat scared of me. She saw me lose my temper twice. "Am I not allowed to go outside? you do not control my life, brother." she said as she rolled her eyes at me. She abruptly turned around and left the room. I clenched my fist in anger before letting out a breath. "Anthony," I said in a normal tone. A sudden gush of wind swiftly passed by face and revealed Anthony kneeling on one knee before me. "Yes, sire," he spoke while his head facing down the floor. "Keep an eye on Aubrey." I ordered. "Yes sire!" he answered with respect and with that, he was gone with the wind. Anthony is my personal guard, he answers to my every call and every duty I give to him without any qualms. I know I can trust him to keep Aubrey safe if im not in the human realm. He is one of my strongest warriors which puts me at ease to move around the palace without worrying about her. Damn it! I am really crazy about this girl. Oh Aubrey, what have you done to me? "Now, to teach my sister a lesson." I spoke as I walked towards the dark alleyway in the palace with a plan in mind. *** I sat on my throne. We have a throne for the royal family. For the King, Queen, and Crown Prince. The princess doesnt have a throne in our world. "Cassandra," I called. I waited for a moment before calling her again. "Cassandra!" I called again angrily. In a quick moment she entered the room, ears covered and with her annoyed face. "I expect you to answer swiftly when summoned." I stated calmly. She composed herself as soon as she realizes we are in the throne room. "Apologies, sire." she said as she bowed to me. The throne room is the most sacred place found inside the palace. He or she must present with the utmost respect for the throne and the one sitting on the throne. Thus, the one on the throne, holds all the power to govern its people and subjects however they please. The word of the Royalties especially when speaking inside the throne room, is infinite and to be bound to not break... Whatever it may be. "Rise, my subject." I ordered. She followed. "I have an important task to give you." I started. "You are to journey to the human world and stay there until I say so, befriending Aubrey and keeping her safe, at the cost of your life." I spoke with authority. I know shes against this. I can feel her mood changing. And yet, she cannot do anything about it. "As ordered sire, I will leave at once." She said and bowed to me before leaving the room. Everyone is bound to follow the orders of the queen, king and the crown prince. I didnt want to do it to my sister but she pushed me to my limits. My patience wore off. I went out of the room and there I saw Cass, her back against the wall, crossing her arms and showing her annoyed face. I can now see clearly how she hates being summoned in the throne room since there is nothing she can do about it but to comply with the order. Her Whims amd whines will not be tolerated. "How could you do that to your own sister! Its basically casting me out!" she flipped. "You brought this on, yourself." I answered and left her in dismay.
