Chapter 7   Aubrey’s POV:   It’s 8 pm and I am on a last-minute shopping roll. I forgot I don’t have any food in my condo and it’s a waste of money to keep on eating out. The supermarket closes at 9 so I moved fast. I am so glad I am near a supermarket, just 2 blocks away from my building. I did not bring a list because I forgot to write one so I will just hope I did not forget anything else. I don’t want to go back and forth in the grocery store, its just a waste of time.   “Hmm, do I need this?” I said to myself while holding the tomato juice. I put the can of juice back. I will just pass for now, I am on a budget. I mistakenly used my electric bill p*****t on the taxi ride on the way to school so I need to make up for that. I think I need to work on part times now but I know I don’t have the time.   I rushed to the cashier to pay.   “Good evening, do you have a power mart card?” The cashier asked. It’s the card for holding pints as you shop on this supermarket.   “No.” I answered politely. She nodded. “It’s 3,000 pesos ma’am,” she spoke. I gave her the cash and went out carrying the plastic bags. It is quite heavy but thank god, my place is just near here. I went out of the store and hurriedly walked back to the condo. I badly need to pee. As I walked, I saw an alleyway that can serve as a shortcut. Without a second thought I went in and just walked fast since it is quite dark. The lights here were blinking.   “Geeze Aubrey, the things you do just to pee,” I said to myself.   I saw a garbage bin blocking the middle part of the road so I tried to fit myself while bring the groceries with me. “Ouch!” I hissed in pain. I scraped my elbow on a broken glass that was sticking out on the garbage bin.   I could see blood dripping on my arm. I tried not to mind it and just went to the other side of the bid.   “Yeah right, a shortcut I said.” I talked to myself. Now, I might get and infection from this. I hurriedly walked on the alley when I noticed a shadow on top of the buildings.   It moved fast. I started to get scared and walked faster. I am almost out of the alley and to the road. I am never passing here again!   I stopped on my tracks when I heard a loud thud at my back. I turned around and saw a shadow, it was all on fours. What is that? I slowly backed away when it moved like it was twitching. It slowly stood up and moved closer. I hurriedly ran away and suddenly something fell in front of me! It was the same one. I abruptly stopped on my tracks and turned to see if I could go back, but I couldn’t… there are two of them! They are blocking the way and I have no where to run. I slowly moved away hoping to find a weapon to defend myself but no luck! Am I in a horror movie?!   Oh god, let this be a dream!   “Stay away!”  I shouted as they stepped closer.  Their bodies were different, it wasn’t human! What are these creatures?!   I heard hissing and groaning, are they not human?   One of them stepped on the light and what I saw almost wet my pants. I am shaking, trembling with fear!   “Ahhh!” I shouted at the top of my lungs hoping to get someone’s attention.   It growled, twitching its head, its face was crippled like it was drained of fluids, its teeth were huge much like having fangs, the eyes were red like it was thirsty for blood. I fell on my knees as I could no longer stand.   I am scared.  Mom, dad!   “Please, help me,” I said in a low trembling voice, as if somebody could hear my plead.   The creatures got nearer and nearer. Until one roared loudly that I could feel like my ears dropping out of my body!   “Please help me!” I shouted on the blank night.   Am I going to die?   The other one started running, charging at me and all I could do was forcefully close my eyes and hope all this was but a dream. Until, I heard a loud sound, as if something was thrown away but I was too scared to open my eyes. I was too scared and was trembling until darkness enveloped me and as I slowly lost consciousness, I heard a voice saying,     “I will keep you safe.”  Just before I blacked out.       I woke up with a heavy head. It feels like my head was hit with a big bat and I passed out.   I jolted up. I was in an alley and I was attacked! I remember. I looked around and saw myself in my own room.   Wait? Was it just a dream?     I checked my elbow from where I thought I scraped it and there wasn’t any wound. So, was it really a dream? I let out a breath of relief. I stood up and went to the kitchen. My stomach is making weird noises. I am hungry.   “I think I still have a left-over pizza from the other night. I will just go grocery shopping tomorrow,” I said to myself.   I opened the fridge only to see that it was full.   What? I furrowed my brows in confusion. I was so sure I didn’t get groceries today and my fridge and pantry are both empty last I checked. I hurriedly went to the corner of the kitchen and checked my pantry, only to see it was well stocked.   I know I didn’t go to the grocery store, it was just in my dream!   Unless… it wasn’t a dream?     But I did not have a wound! What is going on? My day just keeps getting weirder and weirder!
