The Competition ( Part One )

Ariana's P O V :

Today was the day I have been waiting for forever. Today was the day I would prove myself to everyone. All the candidates gathered in our packground as per the instructor's order.

" All right now, listen up everyone, this competition consists of three phases. Only the one who passed will be allowed to go to the next level. Now I present to you, your proctor for the first phase, William Bell ", My father said, and everyone started whispering.

" William Bell, the most feared trainer " one said.

" I heard he once beat an Alpha to pulp " another one said.

I knew about Mr.William Bell. He was one of the most renounced trainers known for his hard training and rigidness. I once heard from Brother Leon that Mr. Bell was very hard to please. Right on cue, a man in his late thirties appeared. I knew in an instant this was Mr. William Bell, even though he looked in his thirties, must have been close to seventy or eighty now. Wolves generally live longer and age slower than humans. Mr.Bell cleared his throat loudly and everyone stopped whispering.

" Now for anyone who doesn't know me, I am William Bell, your proctor for the first phase of this competition. Everyone, if you follow me please " he said, and started walking. All of us formed a line and I noticed my father gave me a smile when our gazes met. Everyone was told to pull out a number from a container and that number would be their seat. I put my hands in the container and pulled out number seven. I quickly made my way towards my seat but my face frowned when I saw none other than the dickhead of Alpha Scorpion sitting in front of me.

" Are you following me, my love " he said cockily, and I groaned. Looks like I should have beat him to the pulp when I had the chance. I ignored him and took my seat. We all waited till everyone was in the room. I was amazed to see how quickly they converted our pack's storage room to an examination center.

" So young ones, you can see your question paper on the desk of your own seat. You will have a total of four hours to answer the question. Read your questions carefully before proceeding. There is one more thing I should add: anyone who dares to cheat will be disqualified from the competition immediately. Remember me and my warriors see everything " he said in an authoritative voice, and I couldn't help but fear for my fate. I closed my eyes and prayed to the Moon Goddess before turning the question paper. I carefully read all the instructions written and then started reading questions. As I expected, the questions were harder. There were only ten questions but each question itself was a great maze. I was already a little worried after reading the first question.

" In a war, you see a wolf get a hand on your mate but before you can rush, another rogue has got its hand on a child. Think carefully and answer whom you will choose and why. "

A mate was our very reason to be alive, but as an Alpha, I was sworn to protect my pack and every member of it. I would definitely regret it for the rest of my life if I chose my mate over a defenceless child. I would also live a life of misery if my mate died right in front of my eyes.

Oh God, these are very difficult. I decided to skip this one and started reading the second question, but it was no use. Every question was tough and it was very difficult to answer them logically. Father warned me the exams were tough, but I never expected this though. Still, I gathered all my wisdom and started answering some questions. The four hours seemed like forty years to me. With each passing moment, I was drowning with fear and anxiety. Still, I tried my best and hoped for the best. After the written exam was finished, we were all asked to take a break as the results would be announced after two hours.

" How did it go " cami asked, groaning. I looked at my friend and my face answered everything.

" It was so hard " she said as we both went to eat something.

We all waited impatiently in a line. I could hear the thumping sound of my own heart beating. If I can't pass this written phase, then I won't make it to the battle phase. I closed my eyes and prayed for the best. Mr.Bell started calling our names. We were instructed to take two steps further upon being called. I waited for my turn but it didn't happen. I opened my eyes and saw only six of us step up.

Did this mean I'm out ?

" Now, those who were in front would not compete anymore. The rest of you prepare your best for the next phase ", Mr.Bell said and gave us a round of applause. I was still in a bit of shock but happy because I passed.

IN THE ISLANDS OF THE BLESSED

Author's P O V :

" Why are you smiling daughter " the moon goodess asked her daughter.

" Nothing, mother. I was watching Ariana and she looked quite happy ", Angel Ariana said.

" That's good, she will have to go through several tests once she shifts " the Goddess said and angel Ariana nodded her head.

" Mother, do you think she can handle everything that fate has in store for her ", Angel Ariana asked.

" She has to, don't forget the survival of your legacy depends on this. Soon, the triplets would also find their mate and, after that, all of their lives would become more complicated and twisted. They all have to survive everything if they want to live ", the Moon Goddess said in a very serious voice.
