Emery’s POV
“Emery?” Sunny called out to me the moment I stepped into the living room.
Both my mom and Emilia quickly stood up, looking behind me, before rushing forward.
“Why are you back?” Emilia lowered her tone as Sunny rushed towards the door.
“I’m..I’m..I’m leaving with him.” I tried to keep my voice calm, but I just can’t.
“What?”
“I’m going!” I sat on the couch, rubbing on my temples.
He gave me 5mins to chat with my family, and I’m so scared that I could literally s**t myself out.
“What happened, Emery?” Emilia pestered, and I frowned.
The situation earlier didn’t make me think clearly, why was my sister helping me run away? Two things are clear, either she doesn’t want me to be with him or she doesn’t want me to have a mate.
“Flash news, Emiliana, I was caught,” I replied, and they all gasped.
Wasn’t that what they were all thinking?
“Where’s he?” My mother asked, making me glanced at her.
I can’t let her go close to him, he’s so cold and brutal. My hands moved to my neck, and the marks were slowly worning off.
The horrible scene that happened earlier is being imprinted in my head. How can he? How can he murder such an innocent person?
“Emery!” My mom called, pulling me out of my trance.
“He’s umm…he’s outside,” I replied, and she quickly walked off.
“Baby!” Sunny pulled me for a hug, and I fought the urge not to cry.
The world is just so cruel to me, how can I have a brutal mate? Someone who can rip my heart at anytime he feels like.
“I’m so sorry, I never meant any of it” Sunny said, feeling her tears on my shoulders.
I pulled her back and stared at her teary face. “It’s not your fault, Sunny, it’s the moon goddess fault.”
It’s all the moon goddess, she paired me with a monster…why?
“But we can’t blame Selene.”
“Then who’s to blame? He refused my rejection. I shouldn’t have run away, the f**k he was leaving and planning to reject me, then he caught me and promised to make me suffer the mate bond. He’s going to kill me, I hate both him and the moon goddess.” The tears have been holding in fell, and I quickly wiped it.
“Emery?”
“Save all you have to say to me, I’m not in for it” I snapped, starring at Emilia.
Can I really blame her for telling me to run? I had the same motives, but she supported a stranger earlier, she believed her best friend over me, her twin, so I have all right to be mad at her.
“What’s your problem?” She asked with her usual annoying voice.
“You of all people know I can never hurt Cami, but you choose to be in her favor instead of mine.”
Sunny held my hands, pressing it softly. I glanced at the wall clock, and my 5mins is over already.
“You’re just an headache, now I pray he kills you,” Emilia spat, walking out of the door and I followed angrily but stopped after seeing him.
My mom stood at the other end speaking with the Alpha, who now looked more relaxed but still had a scowl look, and I wondered what they were talking about, but that wasn’t my major concern.
He was here, Beta James. What does he want this time around? He moved away from Emilia and stood in my front.
Funny how my heart jubilated, but why? I’ve found my mate already, why am I still feeling this way?
He stood very close to me before placing his hands on my cheeks, and all my emotions disappeared. I leaned to his touch when a loud growl pulled me out.
Beta James looked relaxed and wasn’t pulling away, but the growl grew louder.
