His gait was a confident one, he knew he was in charge. "She's not much of a talker." The man with the husky voice said from behind me. I needed to get rid of those two, I could not take an alpha and two subordinates down in my current condition. My shoulder began to throb with pain and I subconsciously reached for it and winced in pain when I made contact with the bite wound.
"I hurt you, I am sorry." Rickon swiftly moved closer to me with worried eyes. I automatically pushed him back but it didn't have any effect on him. "Please, I just want to help." He stepped back giving me some space. "We have medication that will cure the wound. Humans heal so slow it will become infected if you do not treat it properly." He looked over behind me and nodded to one of the men. I almost spit when he said human. I was not a weak human and should not be treated as one, I should be treated according to rank which was ultimately higher than any alpha mutt.
"What is your name?" He asked in a slow friendly voice.
"Tegan." I finally spoke.
"Tegan what?"
"Just Tegan."
He looked at me curiously. One of the other men interrupted his concentration, "We have all the medical supplies ready." Rickon nodded, "Tegan is it? Let me help you clean that wound out." He ushered me towards the hallway. Although I wanted to kill him, I had to heal my wound it was slowing me down. We walked in unison to an elevator where we got in and without pressing any buttons, it automatically took us up.
When we got off the elevator Rickon turned around to face the men, " Erik you can go back to your position. Midnight you can wait outside." He opened the door and I walked into a room. The room was as big as my small cottage, the décor was rustic inside, fur rugs decorated the floor and statues of ancient deities were placed in all corners. There were runes all over the room along with pendants hanging neatly by a shrine. He was of old traditions, he worshipped old gods. In the middle of the room was one big bed, twisted branches framed it, again it was adorned by golden scribbled runes.
And I thought wolves couldn't get more barbaric. "Where is the medicine?" I asked getting straight to the point. This was so easy, the i***t locked himself inside alone with me, a dangerous position. "Please sit down, I will do it. It is the least I can do." He patted his bed then walked towards an old wooden desk that stood near by. I walked over to the desk and saw medical supplies laid on top, he smiled and again motioned for me to sit down. "I can do it myself." I said assertively.
"Actually you will need my help to bandage your shoulder so just let me do it. I promise I won't bite." He chuckled at the horrible pun. I stared at him blankly until he finally stopped and became serious. I didn't do jokes or puns. I walked over to the bed and sat down trying to get it over with.
"Take your shirt off." He ordered, his dominant aura engulfing me. I took my shirt off waiting impatiently, he stared at me for a moment with a grin and devious eyes. He was thinking like a man, lustful thoughts were obviously dancing in his mind. I shot him an irritated look and raised my eyebrow in annoyance.
"I truly apologize for my behavior but full moons are sketchy for my kind." He carefully wiped away at my tender wound. "Have you ever heard of werewolves?" He looked at me when he said it, the lust was gone from his eyes and instead was replaced by anticipation.
"Barbaric creatures, archaic animals that hold place only in fairytales." I said with some venom in my voice. His eyes widened in surprise clearly taken back by such a statement. "There are worse creatures than werewolves. Tegan, werewolves are very real in fact you are looking at one." He finally managed to say, his face twisted with suspense.
"Unfortunately you wreak of wet dog and the scent has been nearly impossible to ignore. Werewolves should have been extinct eons ago." I said with boredom in my voice.
He stood up, dropping some of the medical supplies in the process. His face was now showing signs of anger, I had struck a nerve. "You're not human." He stated in disgust, how ironic he was disgusted by me when he was the feral one in the room. I stood up to be at his level, relishing in the anger that seeped from his pores.
I reached behind me and grabbed my knife, in a swift movement I lashed out towards him. He quickly put his arm out and pushed me as hard as he could, making me fall back wards. On my way down I threw the knife at him burrying it on his shoulder. He growled and pounced on me, I reached out to grab the knife to twist it in further. He hit my hand away and pressed down on my shoulder making me scream out in pain. He pinned me down, his face full of rage.
His blue eyes now green as he tried to hold his wolf back. He was just too strong for me right now, he pushed down harder on my wound and the pain sent me into a dizzy spell. "What are you?' He growled in my face. I was pinned down so hard I couldn't breathe, suddenly the door burst open and his beta Midnight came rushing in. He pulled Rickon off me and left me on the floor coughing for air.
"She's not human!" Rickon roared, "What have I mated with?!" I sat up as his words echoed in the large room. "Rickon calm yourself, you are no good when you throw such fits. We need to address your stab wound." Midnight's voice was calm and authoritive. I looked down to see my wound bleeding again and the pain only got worse. I felt a feverish episode coming like I had never felt before.
"Her wound needs to be cleaned Rickon, she needs our help or your werewolve blood will kill her." Midnight pushed Rickon back, his words seemed to snap Rickon back to reality. He looked down at me with regret, "Stand up." He ordered. I looked at him with hatred in my eyes, I stood up immediately not wanting to have to look up at him any longer.
"Whatever you are or whatever views you have of my kind are from now on irrelevant. When I bit you last night I claimed you as my eternal mate which has created a bond that cannot be broken. Once you turn, the bond will be solidified. There is no way out of this." He calmly stated.
This was the point that really made me laugh inside. My position would never lead me to be mated to anyone especially a dirty mutt. I smirked at his ridiculous statement.
