Rickon walked over to me and grabbed my arm forcefully and pulled me close to him, "So what are you?" He glared at me with disgust now. Not a weak human obviously, but I couldn't tell him who I really was. I rolled my eyes and pulled away from him glaring at him with a smirk on my face, which only enraged him.
"I am an immortal." I admitted.
"What type of immortal?" He growled.
"Just an immortal." I lied.
He smiled then amused, he looked down at the knife still in his chest and swiftly pulled it out. Blood gushed out as Midnight tried to push on the wound with a cloth. He took a deep breath in and as he released his breath the wound began to heal immediately. He rolled his head re focusing in the moment, when he opened his eyes they narrowed on me.
"Are you a witch? An elf?" He asked.
"I am just immortal." I lied again.
He looked at his beta for a moment before turning back to me with quizzical eyes. "Why were you being pursued?" He pressed on. "I don't know, they appeared out of nowhere. " I stepped back wondering why I was even entertaining them. There was something about him, it was as if I wanted to be near him for some unknown reason, it appalled me.
"Tegan, you will be my mate so you will have to act like it soon. I do apologize for how we met but you will stand next to me whether you want to or not." He grumbled, I almost laughed. "Because I have bitten you, you are now infected with the lican gene. You will turn and you will be one of us." He said with seriousness behind his voice.
I had never been bitten by a wolf, I never let them get close enough. I did not know their lore or their customs, so far for all I knew he was telling me the truth. In that moment of thought I fell into a daze of coughing over and over again before I fell to the ground. The floor felt like it was on fire and my bones felt like they were twisting a million ways. I struggled to gain control without any success, choking on my own saliva. My body twisted and flailed without my control, I screamed out in pain as I rolled on the floor.
Rickon ran to me and held me in his hands holding me down as I contorted around the floor screaming. I shook in his hands, finally giving up after a few minutes. What had he done to me? Bastard! I went on flailing my limbs for a few more minutes. When my body finally stilled Rickon laid me on his bed, stroking my hair.
"She has the fever Rickon." Midnight said in a low voice.
"Get her some medicine, she will turn soon." Rickon ordered.
I cussed at them both, trying to push Rickon off me. Midnight injected me with a clear liquid, the world seemed to stop but then a warm feeling built up in my belly. I laid limp in Rickon's arms, leaning into him defenselessly. I blacked out after that, the pain leaving my body finally.
I was in a fever for several days, thrashing about and screaming out in pain. By the fifth day the fever had broken and I once again regained consciousness. I felt weak but my body did not ache as before anymore. Rickon had been there the whole time, his presence had never left me which only fueled my hatred for him. As I assessed myself I saw the bite wound was gone and I no longer suffered from its pain, instead a small scar was all that remained in a moon shape.
"I know you feel well but you must rest, your transformation is not completely over." Rickon's voice sounded dreadful. I slapped his hand away and tried to get up but my knees buckled and I fell to the ground instantly. I felt no pain yet I still felt weak, dizziness over took me and I felt bile rising in my throat. It took everything out of me to take control of my bowels and swallow it back down.
I had let them live for far too long, I had to execute them, my confidence grew as did my strength. After I awoke later on I ate as if I had never ate before, ravished from the lost days. Although I was vulnerable the beasts had spared me and for that I would make their deaths fast.
Finally a week after the ordeal I felt back to normal, as a matter of fact I felt better than before. My strength and healing abilities were back full force, I felt like my normal self. Through out my stay I noticed my senses had improved, I could hear and smell better than before. I felt stronger than before much more stronger, my best guess was the lican venom mixed with my subtle gene mutations and brought out the best of the transformation.
I was a combination of an elite immortal and wolf, stronger than both.
Perhaps I would not need the serum after all, I smiled at the thought.
"When the full moon comes you will completely turn." Rickon said.
"I have been reduced to a mutt's toy!" I yelled.
"You are the queen of this pack now, the strongest of this continent. Trust me love you are no toy." Rickon tried to touch me but I slapped his hand away. I would never belong to such and inferior beast. I saw my predicament but I didn't recoil in fear. In the few days I had stayed I had realized that in fact staying within territory I would be safe from my pursuers. The only reason I hadn't slashed Rickon's throat was that his territory kept me safe for now. The order would never hunt for me in dog territory, they thought better of me.
I kept my secrets and went along with their preposterous ways for my own gain. Rickon showered me with gifts in the weeks that came but I threw them all out, possessions were irrelevant. His frustration caused commotion in the mansion and within his pack. I only needed to hide out until the time was right, until my trail was completely cold to my pursuers.
The night before the full moon Rickon entered my chambers, as annoyed as I was I couldn't falter in my character. He sat next to me with a lustful look, I got up and sat opposite of him. "We will have to mate soon again Tegan." He said in a husky low voice, a growl behind it.
"Again?" My eyes burned as I said the word.
