CHAPTER FIFTEEN

-YURI HANNA- "Your face is all over the werewolf's community newspapers, claiming you abducted the prince sent here by the royal family in the west," Akira let out when everyone had calmed down. They all proceeded to Raffa Greyson's office to discuss the subject in private. My brow furrowed as I sat on the couch next to the wolf prince, who not only looked even more dashing in a basic black button-down shirt and trousers but also smelt heavenly. Haede whimpered, and I immediately blocked her, shook my head, and returned my attention to the topic. "The news was indeed fast." "How in the heck was it publicized in just a matter of time?" Shin Rivas, who was sitting behind the table on her alpha's lap, had her lips pursed. My issue was not about the moment the news was broadcast, but rather its accuracy. It was apparent that I was being set up. The evidence would point out the rogues if you conducted a comprehensive investigation. So why are they picking on me? Lyme Peterson expressed his thoughts. "This is killing two birds with one stone."Whoever is behind this slanderous charge intends to wreak havoc on the East Coast. They'll cast us as the bad guys until they take away the prince and start a war between two continents." Everyone looked at the prince, who seemed to be the only one who wasn't engaged in the conversation and was more interested in staring at me, making me conscious and elbowing his side. "Will you stop it?" I snapped quietly at him. Prince Killah chuckled and leaned in close to my ear. "Now that I'm staring at you, you are indeed a pretty lady, aren't you?" His hot minty breath brushed over my flesh as he teased. What the hell! My stomach tightened, and the blood in my body rose to my cheeks. There are other times for the wimp to say those remarks, and why did he have to choose that particular moment while the leaders of Blue Moon and White Fang were present? Is he really enjoying putting me in an awkward situation because I was certain that even if it was only a whisper, the guys in the room would obviously hear it being a werewolf? And I was correct when I noticed Shin's eyes widening with interest and Akira's right brow raised. Alpha Raffa, Alpha Aleca, and Lyme, on the other hand, faked to cough as if they hadn't heard anything making me wish for the ground to swallow me up. "Do you want to die, your highness?" I warned the prince, trying to conceal my flushed face. "Will you please focus and tell them what happened?" Unless he steps up, the misconception will remain. Brushing his hair with his fingers, Killah heaved a heavy sigh and finally heeded me. He slouched in his seat, one arm above the couch, holding my shoulder and pulling me closer to him before eventually narrating everything that transpired in Mr.Gozo. "I'm Prince Killah Russels, sent by the royal family here in the east to seek refuge while there's conflict in the west," he stated solemnly as he gazed at the alphas and lunas. "I claim that Yuri Hanna, who was assigned as my bodyguard, is innocent." There was no kidnapping; rather, she saved this lowly nobleman from assassins and a squad of rogues who sought my head." "Dallas is still alive," I validated the prince's assertion. "The former alpha rogue we defeated in the last war is the leader of the assassin who killed Mr. Gozo in his resthouse. We escaped them and ended up here since my car didn't make it to Bloody Paws." "Dallas!" Alpha Raffa grimaced as he realized the rogue who nearly killed his twin was still on the list of the living. "We must inform all of the territories in the east about this," Alpha Aleca exclaimed. "We cannot let a dangerous scum roam around our land like a ticking bomb." My head bobbed up and down because the White Fang's alpha was correct. Then I recall my superior. "I must also give Bloody Paws a ring. Alpha Alva must also be notified in order to disperse our fighters around the pack. Those knuckleheads may ambush us on the road because they will not stop until they have the prince." When I told Raffa and everyone else in the room about my need for help bringing Prince Killah to Bloody Paws, the Greyson couple immediately summoned Beta Ridge to prepare what I needed. "Come to think of it, why are they so obsessed with laying a hand on the Prince?" Shin inquired as we were about to conclude our talk. "Aside from cutting the bloodline of the current King, perhaps it is because the western rogue wants to annihilate the last card of the royal family," Lyme let out, looking skeptically at the prince. A smirk tugged at the corner of Prince Killah's mouth as we all glanced at him for confirmation of Lyme's notion. "The last card?" I uttered, frowning. What does the White Fang's beta mean? Lyme didn't let us down when he addressed the question in our heads. "When the Moon Goddess sent her favored wolves into this realm, not only Apocalista, Erra, Quebie, and Haede were selected. There was another. The fifth one and said to be the strongest." That piqued our interest. "Thousands of years ago, the Dark Prince came to this world and killed fifty percent of the earth wolves who defied the Moon Goddess's law. The dark prince was cursed, bound to this planet to suffer for his crime in the Moon Kingdom, but he was apprehended and murdered. He was reincarnated in order to find the appropriate vessel for his mission, and it was assumed that it was Prince Killah of the West who was bearing the Dark Prince, also known as 'Psychos.'" "Charming," Prince Killah took his arm off my shoulder, stood up, and approached the expert beta. "You sure knew a lot, lad." Lyme sighed, unimpressed with the prince's compliment. "That's the least I can do as the White Fang's second in command. To have a mind capable of bringing down a kingdom."
