“Rosie, as you heard, I have your lab results back. And it is as I suspected it would be. You are in fact one
of the children that were stolen. Your parents never died in an accident.” I let this news sink in for a
moment. Rosie looked at Gus as tears filled her eyes. “It will be ok Rosie” Gus said. He was trying not to
be angry that someone hurt his mate, but I could feel him starting to spin out of control. “Remember
Gus, we have dealt with the ones responsible. They have been punished. Calm down” I told him by link. I
watched as he took a deep breath and I could feel his anger subsiding. “who are they” Rosie asked
behind sniffles as tears fell. “Well Rosie, your parents are Alpha James Herald and Luna Sarah Herald of the Fallen Tree pack not far from here actually” I informed her. “Dream are you certain of this? Could
the teat be wrong?” Gus asked already knowing the answer. He was asking to ease Rosie’s mind. “Gus,
you heard Dr. Powell. The test came back 100%. That leaves no room for error” I explained. “So what
happens now” he asked. Rosie looked to me to hear the answer. “Well, I have to notify the council that
she is no longer missing. Her parents will have to be notified, and from there I guess it is up to them and
Rosie. From what I understand, she would have been the first born, and that would make her the heir
to the pack. However considering the situation with you, that complicates things, because she cannot
be an Alpha of a pack that I reign over. She would have to chose between you and the pack “ I told
them. “That’s why you didn’t want to announce the mate bond isn’t it?” Rosie asked. I nodded my head.
“Yes Rosie. Because if I had announced it then that would have taken away your choice, and don’t believe
that is the right thing to do. Like we explained to you this is something that you need to enter with your
eyes wide open, if not it will not work. And to be honest, those that it has not worked for in the past did
not fair well because they turned on the ones the protectors protected and ultimately cost them their
life by their mates hands. I don’t wish that on no one especially not you or Gus “ I told her. Rosie just
looked at Gus. She looked like she was at a lost for words. “So when will you talk to the elders?” Gus
asked. “I have linked Micah already, and he should be here any moment. These things cannot be sat on
and have to be dealt with immediately. Think of the way my parents suffered everyday while I was gone,
and the pack. I can’t say that will always be the case in every scenario, I would hope so, but for
everyone involved we have to do it at once “ I explained. Both of them nodded. There was a knock on
my door. Gus looked up and I nodded. It was Micah. “The two of you should stay. He will want to speak
with you both” I told them as I called for Micah to enter.
“Queen Dream, you have hot the ground running on all fours I see” he said entering and greeting me as
he kissed my cheek. I handed him the lab work to review as he sat in the chair next to me facing Rosie
and Gus. “Oh, wow. This is a miracle” he said looking up at them. “I have known your parents their
entire life. They are very good people. Like the Queen’ s parents, they never stopped looking for you
Rosie.” Elder Micah informed her. She didn’t say a word but just stared blankly at him. “I will have to
notify them Rosie, you do understand that don’t you” he asked concerned. “Yes sir” she answered. “Can
we do it here with the Queen and Gus?” She asked. “I don’t s why not. It actually makes the most sense
for it to be done here after all. As long as it is OK with Queen Dream, then I can have the two if them
come right over” he said looking to me for an answer. “Rosie, will you be ok with that? I know we really
don’t hav much choice, but I can delay it for a few minutes if you need to” I asked. “No mam. I would
like to get this done, so I can do whatever I need to do” she said looking to the ground and not at Gus.
This worried me. A lot. I needed to brace Gus for a possibility that she would reject him, and I really did
not want to see that happen. “Gus, can I get you to help me bring in a few more chairs please?” I asked
him. “Sure thing” he answered without questioning. Micah knew exactly what I was about to do. He
nodded agreeing with my decision to warn my protector.
“Gus, I need to talk to you for a moment in private” I said once we were out of my office. “What is
wrong Dream” he asked worried. “Sit down” I told him as I patted a chair next to me. “Gus, I need to
warn you, that you need to brace yourself and talk to your wolf. Rosie may reject you. I need you to
realize this and understand why she would. She would be doing it for her pack, not because she don’t
want to be with you,, but because she can’t be your mate and Aloha” I tried my best to explain. Gus
gripped the arm of the chair trying to control himself until the arm broke. “Gus calm down. I don’t want
to order you, so please don’t make me” I said watching his movement. I didn’t have to wait a second more before Brian and Zade broke the door down and grabbed Gus restraining him. Gus was raging at
the mere thought of losing his mate. It was everything Zade and Brian could do to control him. I had no
choice but to order him to submit. “Gus, submit at once. That is a direct order” I said ordering him. This
broke my heart as I watched him crumble to the ground because of my words. Tears threatened to fall
from my eyes as I watched him. Zade and Brian helped him to stand and took him to his room to calm
down and compose himself before returning to my office. “Thank you guys, I’m s sorry Gus” I told him
asthey walked him out. “He will be ok” Zade said as he turned around to make sure that I was OK. I
nodded as I wiped my eyes. “Brian, can you handle him for just a sexond” Zade asked him. Brian shook
his head yes. Zade walked back in and hugged me. “You did what you had to do. We all know that. You
had to get him under control before he completely lost it. He won’t hold it against you” zad entries to
comfort me.”He will of Rosie rejects him” I said. Zade looked at me worried. “Well If she rejects him,
then it never was meant to be from the get go, and it will be for the best” he answered. “Would you be
saying that if it were Dr. Powell in Rosie’ s position. Zade looked at me like I just kicked him when he was
down. “Exactly my point” i answered.
