Ransom Tanager
At this moment, Christian Cardinal was tied up in my house. I’d sent Piper to the loft in the city. I didn’t want her to be anywhere near me while I figured out exactly what it was that Christian was up to. The last time Christian had been in our lives, he had nearly killed Piper and destroyed anything left that we had of a relationship.
I didn’t know that Christian was an EVO then. I wish I had. If I had, I might have been able to stop all of the trouble that happened between the two of us. I still remembered the worst fight Piper and I ever had.
About a month after she’d been dating Christian, I came home to find her furious at me. “What did you do?” she demanded, having stormed down the stairs to where I stood in the entryway.
