Four weeks later
Helena’s point of view
My stomach is churning and doing little flips, this is another big step for me. Back to work! Cole had been a little hesitant about me returning, but my councillor has said she thinks I am ready to start and face the world again. The last four weeks have been great, I am getting mentally stronger every day, and returning to work is another part of my healing process.
I am going to go in for the morning only, a bit like in the very beginning, just to get the “how are you’s?” and the sad looks, or people who will move to the other end of the world to avoid you because they have no clue what to say to you anymore, out of the way.
