Chapter 10

Vanessa

The kiss felt amazing. The sparks from his lips and the way he held me. My wolf danced in my head. I asked my warrior “Do I pull away for my fate or let the pull happen.” All she did was smile and say “This is your fate. If you are leaving the path I will let you know. Father picked him for a reason.” Her and my wolf slipped in the back of my mind. Hearing that I deepened the kiss. I stood tippy toe and wrapped my arms around his neck. He wrapped his arms tighter around my waist soon I was lifted up. He pulled away with out setting me down. “I know you felt something then.” I smiled and nodded. “the wolf and warrior agree, this is part of my fate.” He smiles wide, hoists me higher to where I have to wrap my legs around him and spins me around. He stops and looks at me both of smiling wide. “Mate.” He says softly and kisses me again. He places me on my feet and we walk back to the group.

         Evan was awake. Megan and Liam were talking and all smiles. Liam sees us and waves. We walk over and sit in the chairs. Damien leans over and down and grabs the leg of the chair and drags it closer to him. He then hands me another beer and leans back placing his free hand on my thigh. Everyone just looked at us. “Oh she’s my mate.” He said like no big deal. Evan who was still drunk, smiled slow clapped and then tossed himself Damien. Who both went backward almost taking me with them. I was out of my chair before it could happen. “Congrats brother, treat her right or I’ll kill you.” He said making us all laugh.

         “WHAT DO YOU MEAN MATE?!” Ashley walked over screeching with the other elite. Damien stood up. “Well generally with wolves we have a mate we are drawn to and that’s what this is.” I smirked at his assholeness toward her. “You cant be, we are supposed to be together! We made a promise when we were 6!” She screamed. He shrugged. “My wolf doesn’t want you. I wont resist the mate pull.” He said crossing his arms over his chest. My warrior came forth to me, “She’s going to try to stand between you two. The family wolf line was always weak. They would deny their mates in hopes to be with a stronger wolf. It only weakened them. She cant shift.” I smirked. “Hmm sounds like a challenge.” I said to my wolf. “How about a challenge? We shift and fight for him.” I said to her. “You always say how you’re a stronger wolf since I’m only half. No fight to the death just to submission.” She looked visibly shaken as I say it. “Why would I stoop so low? “She scoffed. “Cause If you beat me I’ll reject him as my mate and stay out your way and then be to Mexico in a couple weeks. If I win you keep to finding your own mate. And if you refuse to fight and try to come between us, I’ll make sure the warrior gets out to deal with you instead of me.” She gulped. She nodded “Fine. when?” “How about now?” She glared and took off her jacket. A football player held up a blanket for her to undress and shift. Liam did the same for me.

         I shifted easily. My wolf was Silver almost white, with matching eyes. My tail was tipped with a black patch of fur. I stood waiting seeing she wasn’t shifted yet. She was struggling. With a ear piercing scream she shifted. He brown wolf was tiny. She looked frail. “I don’t know if I can fight her, she looks like she is almost dead.” I said to my wolf and warrior. “No full strength, just get her to submit. She’s proud but she will submit soon.” I didn’t respond. Everyone moved back to give us room. She lifted her lips and snarled, I couldn’t I just looked at her. She lunged for me and raised my paw and tossed her to the side. I would keep doing this until she submitted. After a few more times she staggered getting up it hurt me. She lunged and bit at my throat, I clamped down on the back of hers just hard enough to make her yelp. She wiggled and then stopped moving, whimpering. “I submit, please” We all heard in the mind link. I let go and moved to Liam who held the blanket again and I shifted and dressed. She shifted there on the floor with the blanket draped over her. The football player picked up and went to carry her to the car to get her home. “How did you know you could win?” Liam asked. “The warrior can see the wolf lines, and said they have been denying their mates to be with stronger wolves, but its only made them weak. She lost a lot of her energy just trying to shift.” Damien came over as I buttoned up my flannel. Kissed my forehead and hugged me.

         “Wait what happened.” Evan came over. Megan turned and punched him square in the face knocking him out. “That’s what he gets for getting wasted.” She shook her fist. “Get him the truck we can take him home.” We all walked to the truck. “You got him?” Damien asked. “not the first time ive had to take his passed out ass home and carry him up the stairs.” He gave me kiss that lasted a few seconds. He looked deep into my eyes like he wanted to say something but decided on “get home safely” I nodded.

I didn’t want to leave her. I wanted her by my side. I didn’t know how to ask her to stay the night with me. So I let her go. I groaned. I headed to my car and took off home, on the drive I called murphy the football player who took Ashley home. To see if she was at least ok. He said she was weak but she will be ok. I sighed and thanked him for looking out for her. I drove the rest of the way home kicking myself for not asking her to stay with me. Even if she said no I could have still asked her.

         I got home and walked up the stairs quietly so I didn’t wake my parents. I got to my room flopped on my bed and groaned staring at the ceiling. I texted Vanessa real quick *let me know when you get home, want to make sure you’re safe* I went to my closet and changed into basketball shorts for bed and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth. When I walked out Vanessa was sitting on my bed looking at the door. “you should keep you windows locked anyone could easily get in.” “Apparently. How did you climb up? I’m on the second floor.” I looked out my window. “you think being a warrior they wouldn’t teach me how to climb things or scurry across roof tops with out making a sound?” She smiled and lifted an eyebrow. I turned the tv on so we could talk a little more at a normal volume. “What are you doing here?” I sat down next to her. “Would you believe me if I told you my warrior told me to come here?” I shook my head. “What about my wolf?” I shook my head again leaning closer as she did. “What about if I said I just wanted to be close to you so more?” I nodded when our lips touched. I placed one hand on her cheek and into her hair as she pressed closer to me. I shifted to lean over her as she shifted to lay more on the bed. I was between her legs as her knees were bent it made it easy for me to run my hands along her long legs as we kissed. She ran her hands all over my back, chest, abs feeling me. I kissed her jaw to her neck sucking softly as she closed her eyes leaned her head to the side and giving me better access. I tempted fate and let my hand slide up her shirt to her breasts. Her moan had me wanting more. I pushed her shirt up and pulled both her bra cups down and her beautiful full breasts came out. I groaned at the sight. I softly ran my thumbs over her harden nubs. Her eyes were wide and I searched for an answer in them. She nodded. I leaned down and took one on my mouth swirling my tongue around it sucking on it softly while my hand caressed the other. I moved to the other and did the same thing. Vanessa had her hands in my hair, keeping her moans quiet but still loud enough so I could hear. I leaned up and kissed her again. Not pulling her shirt down so I could feel her breasts against my chest.
