Rhea and Lukas went inside the house and then they closed all the doors and windows. After all they were going to perform a blood magic ritual and that could not be seen or interrupted by anyone.
“Aunt Luna says that this is a pretty simple ritual and should not be taking more than ten minutes to complete and then to take effect it depends on your capacity to imbibe my blood in your system,” said Lukas and just after saying he did a double take and said,” What did I say just now exactly?”
“No no who is imbibing blood here? What do you think is going on here? She is a wolf and she is a Druid and we don’t have any clue how her system works yet. How can you expect me to take this chance to make her ingest or imbibe something which might be harmful for her?” asked Lukas as he kept looking at Luna and rhea understood that as he was not looking at her. This was going to be one interesting situation in all.
“Brother, wait. I need to see what happens and this is blood from your body. Think of this as a transfusion,” said Rhea as she held her hands up trying to make him understand.
“Transfusion?” he asked in confusion.
“Yeah! Of course…I am pretty sure you have heard the term. I know that the wolves have rapid healing powers but still sometimes in the way of accidents might be there are chances when transfusion is required and normal blood doesn’t work, so someone from the pack is always required to give blood for transfusion. Brother, you are the Alpha and am I supposed to think that you cannot remember this basic laws of what to do after protection?” asked Rhea with surprised look on her face.
“I know all that. But this is not a matter of life and death and you are not supposed to give away your life for anything and put it in danger for the sake of seeing some kind of nonsense which will let you see spirits,” said Lukas as he looked at Luna and growled at her.
“Why are you so hell bent on making me think that this is not necessary at all?” asked Rhea trying to understand what was the reason that he was trying to dissuade her.
“I am just scared for you Rhea. I don’t want you getting poisoned or anything of that sort happening to you because we tried a blood-transfusion which had no reason at all except seeing an old demented and filth sewing spirit of a dead witch,” said Lukas and Rhea put her fingers over her ear because she really did not want to hear anything like that coming out from her brother’s mouth.
“I am not listening to this nonsense. When you have figured it out that what you want me to do please find me. I am going to do my homework,” said Rhea in a huff as Lukas was left alone in the basement.
Rhea left him alone in a huff and Lukas screamed in frustration.
“Stop trying to make her decisions for her. You were doing so good and now you have let the brother inside you come out and send her away again. What is wrong with you Lukas? The rate in which you are going, no one is going to be able to do anything , help you out with anything at all which you are supposed to achieve,” said Luna and Lukas looked up at her with such hatred in his eyes that even the witch and spirit was taken aback a little bit.
“You are not my mother,” whispered Lukas as he rose to his full height which was definitely impressive. He looked at her in the eye and said,” You do not get to tell me what I am going to do and what I should not do. You keep on advising me and asking me to do things which I have not asked help in. You are not my family and neither am yours. Long after your death you are trying to be the part of a family which did not belong to you in the first place. My sister is my responsibility and whatever you are going to say is not going to change the fact that she is my sister. So you better know your limits spirit. Because you are here only as a sob story. Nothing more, and you have no power as well. You drain my power and that is the reason you keep being seen to me,” said Lukas and he smiled at her. It was one that could freeze you to your bones because it showed that he was not alone and he knew every single thing.
Luna gasped at him and looked at him in growing horror.
“Yes, I know what you are thinking. That I sound exactly like my mother and that I am trying to intimidate you by telling you things which I should not be knowing. But let me tell you something,” said Lukas as Luna heard him go on,” you are not the only one who can gain knowledge from places that I cannot even imagine.”
And after hearing that Luna disappeared from before his eyes. Lukas could still feel her presence and the bitter sense of magic close to him but that was not enough. He rose up from the basement and went to bring Rhea in order to do the ceremony. It was life and everything that lay before them was unknown. In such a state he had no other option rather than to look at everything with either a cynical and negative eye or to try everything and then dismiss it with the method and process of trial and error.
They drew the circle and then sat across it opposite, facing each other holding hands while gradually uttering the one single line that was required for this spell. Luna was right, it was a simple spell.
Lukas brought the dagger from his pocket and made a cut in the middle of his palm and then passed it on to Rhea who did the same without a single word and then they both joined their cut palms together and clasped their hands together in order to stick the blood to blood and flesh to flesh and dropped and let their mingled blood drip in the middle of the circle. There was nothing to be done except wait and let their cuts heal together.
And when they did both of them felt the sizzling in their blood and Rhea’s eyes widened up at the sensation and so did Lukas’s but he was more habituated with jolts and coursing of electricity all through his body till now so he was not surprised. But the suddenly Rhea started shaking violently and she started having a seizure. Lukas caught hold of her and then put a stick in her mouth so that she would not bite her tongue. He knew that there were chances of something like this happening, however he still did put her in danger. Lukas knew that he had to let her ride this out. Getting touched by death in your blood and the very inside of your heart is not something that happens every single day. But now there was a chance that he would be the cause of her sister’s demise, thought Lukas as he started to hum the lullaby which he used to sing to her when she was baby and gradually she stilled in his arms and then fell asleep.
Lukas removed the sick from her mouth and then wiped her face and her mouth from all the spittle and dirt. Then he carried her to the bedroom and then covered her up and let her sleep. He did not think that he could sleep in his own room that night. So he waited to see when she was going to wake up and the moment she did she let out a piercing scream so shrill that it was possible to arouse almost the entire pack from their sleep.
Lukas leaped up from the chair and caught hold of her and saw that Luna was peering down her face from two inches over her face. It was a strange sight.
“What is wrong with you Luna?” asked Lukas as he looked at the spirit moving away from both of them.
“Is she the one?” asked Rhea softly as she looked at her in awe.
“Yup. The one and only that has been bugging me,” said Lukas as he muttered something else under his breath but it was not audible at all. But Rhea heard it alright. She smiled softly and sat up on her bed and looked at Luna straight in the eye.
“So you are the one that was killed by your mother, is it now?” asked Rhea as she looked at her, trying to discern if in her spirit form the wounds would be visible or not.
“No I am not the only one. And she was not your mother girlie, so you can stop with all that sappy stuff…oh sorry then again this sappy stuff runs in your veins,” said Luna with a cackling laughter as Lukas growled at her and bared his teeth but Rhea held his hand and then looked at her again and said,” Who is my mother and who is not that is up to me to decide. Unlike you, who never got the chance to birth another witch and also not carry forward her line which is the reason you are now dead and a ghost while we are alive and kicking. And to be honest, it is a good thing that you weren’t a mother because you were going to be a pretty bad one at that.”
Lukas snorted at his sister’s comment and Luna cold not believe her ears. This girl who was even not an adult was speaking in terms which would put centuries old witches to shame. This one needed to be taken care of, or Lukas was never going to be in her control.
“And the other thing. It is a good thing that I can see you now, because what you are trying to do with my brother, I am not going to let that happen. If you think you can change him into anything but a puppet then you are highly mistaken,” said rhea as if she could hear the thoughts going in the head of the spirit.
She was again taken aback.
“I know what you are thinking. This one is such a tiny little half-breed b***h. What would it take to bring her under control of the great and mighty witch, isn’t it? Unfortunately you can’t,” said Rhea as Luna left the room and Rhea looked at her brother who was awed by her performance.
“Tell me how did you manage to pull something like that of?” asked Lukas as he kissed the top of her head.
“It was no big deal Lukas. When it comes down to the people you love and you have the basic instinct to protect them, it is pretty obvious that you are going to take them by the throat and choke-slam them on the ground making it obvious that no rants or no taunt is going to rile me up enough to make me bow down my head to them,” said Rhea and she hugged her brother as they both basked in love of each other’s company.
