Donny Gets Cut Off

800 Words
Donny Shamus didn’t like to be told no. He was the spoiled only son of the town’s mayor, and he acted as his title would allow him. Donny has been skipping school, doing drugs, partying with the wrong type of people all his life. He didn’t want much but fun and lots of it. With a bad thot or two on his arm would make it even better. But ever since he’d gotten home, everyone had been keeping an annoyingly closer eye on him. Even his father who last year, Donny couldn’t pay to get him to spare twenty minutes of his time was being clingy. And with a house arrest monitor on his ankle that would not only snitch on him if he was late coming into the house. But also smoked any pot, went anywhere he wasn’t supposed to, or didn’t go somewhere he wasn’t supposed to. With his prole officer going through steroid withdrawls and having nothing better to do, Donny had him and his father riding him. He was expected to make better grades, show he was approving, and win back the shine to his name. Because right now it was dull and everyone was seeing his flaws. And Mayor Sebastian Shamus couldn’t have that. “I’m sorry son, but you’re doing your community service.”He said as their maids laid out dinner. Donny chewed his food with anger as he scowled, “Come on dad, I really don’t want to spend the next three months, cleaning trash off the side of the road.” Mayor Sebastian nodded, as he sat at the table looking every bit of a mayor. In his early forties, the blonde man’s blue eyes looked at his son seriously. “Exactly, you don’t want to and that’s why it’s a punishment.  For you to learn about your actions so that maybe you’ll start making better ones.” Donny frowned in disgust at just the idea of it, “It’s getting colder by the minute! The schedule is going to have me out until six thirty! It’ll be dark and freezing by then!” Mayor Sebastian hummed in thought, “Interesting.” Donny thought his dad would cave. But instead he reached for his phone as he casually said, “Well it’ll help you build character. Maybe you’ll freeze your way into being a better human being.” Donny’s scowled deepen but Mayor Sebastian smiled widely at him resembling a shark, “Sorry son, but no more getting to play fast and loose with my name.  You’re on lock down now and as far as I’m concerned, I got you off as light as possible. You should be grateful.” Mayor Sebastian sighed warily, “Until I see some constriction or change in character things are over for you. No getting out of it either, unless you chop your leg off.” Donny was ready to strangle his father, but Mayor Sebastian wasn’t no slouch and suddenly sent a chilling look his son’s way. “Speaking of, what’s this business I hear about you bothering Jasper Wynter?” Donny looked down guilty and Mayor Sebastian slammed a hand on the table, “Damn it, Donny! I told you to stay away from him!” Donny rolled his eyes, “I didn’t do s**t to the kid. I was minding my damn business and he came into the gym talking s**t to me. I didn’t do anything, and nobody did s**t to stop him when he grabbed me.” Mayor Sebastian c****d an eyebrow, “Is it true you were seen talking to his girlfriend rather…heatedly as she looked,” Mayor Sebastian checked his phone, “ “Annoyed, uncomfortable, and pissed” as you “kept getting in her way trying to make her talk to you.”?” Donny withered instantly at the mention of his conversation with Alaia. She was a weird girl, because as enticing as she was, she was also dangerous. He’d felt it in her presence, and it had been disorienting. “I only tried to be friendly. I hadn’t recognized her, but I didn’t know she was Wynter’s girl.” Donny lied. He’d done his snooping on Alaia the minute he’d seen her.  Mayor Sebastian glared at him as Donny smirked before glossing over the actual truth, “But she didn’t seem to mind wanting to talk me until people noticed she was.” Mayor Sebastian glared at his son and warned seriously, “Stay away from her Donny! I don’t need to deal with anymore s**t you get yourself into.” Donny heard what his dad said, but he wouldn’t do it. Because while he knew Alaia Knight was dangerous and he shouldn’t try his luck. He also knew she was addictive and he couldn’t resist it.  He wanted that fire and danger for himself, and even as his father bitched at him to stay away from them both. Donny knew he was going to do everything in his power to have her.
