Jasper groaned as he finished inside of Alaia, her nails clawing up his back as she creamed around him. Alaia kissed Jasper seductively until he pulled out of her leaving them both moaning in bliss. Falling beside her breathless, both smiled as Jasper tiredly admitted, “We were not living up to our full potential before.” Alaia giggled agreeing as she looked over at Jasper. He pushed a curl out of her face gently and she smiled from her soul. As the sun started to rise, Jasper immediately felt crushingly drained. Like he’d been running and hauling bricks all day in the hot sun. Smiling as she looked at him, Alaia got up and ran to her bag. Grabbing a wrapped box, Alaia presented it to him, “Before I forget.” Grabbing his wrist, Alaia put a silver bracelet on for him. It locked around his wrist and thin silver chains connecting to rings appeared. “Whoa.” Jasper whispered. Alaia giggled, “I called the granddaughter of Juliette and she agreed to make this for you.” Jasper looked at the rings on his fingers as the heavy grogginess he had started to feel disappeared. The one on his index finger was a silver bat in the middle a small red ruby sat on it’s back. The middle finger was a W for his last name. A little red ruby at every point on the W. Third finger, a skull with two slightly bigger rubies sitting in the eyes. And on the fourth a cross laying horizontal with a ruby in the center. Smiling as it shined in the light, Jasper looked over at Alaia now wide awake again, “Happy late birthday Jas.” Jasper grinned, “Thanks Alaia.” Kissing her, they started to roll back over for more love making. But the alarm suddenly sounded and Alaia grabbed her phone. Jasper looked at the camera of the people in the elevator and saw Davon, Stephan, and Roxie. “Oh you got to be kidding me.” Alaia saw a text from Arden and read it to him, “So I just need to tell them, I’m fine with being turned?” Alaia shrugged lightly not seeing why it was their business anyway, “Yeah, guess so.” Jasper and Alaia both got up and in a blur of movement got dressed. When Stephan, Davon, and Roxie made it to the door, Alaia was making coffee and Jasper was looking out over the beautiful view of Seattle. Stephan walked in first with Davon and Roxie pulling his flank. Seeing Jasper with his back to them, Stephan called out, “Kid?” Turning, Jasper grinned, “Sup Stephan.” Davon walked to Jasper slowly, as if unsure of Jasper becoming a vampire made things worse between them. But Jasper just closed the distance and gave him a bro hug. “And what brings you all by?” Davon looked at Stephan who shrugged, “We came to check on you.” Looking around the loft, he turned back to Jasper and asked, “And you? Shouldn’t you be studying for the SATs.” Jasper smiled revealing his fangs, but he cheekily teased, “Oh well I f****d around and got killed, then found out I have a rare vampire gene. So, I decided I wanted to come here and visit some dispensaries. Maybe then your daughter will stop calling me sad boy.”  Jasper thought about that for a moment, “Well considering all that, I doubt it.” Davon laughed a little as Stephan snorted without meaning too. Roxie looked at Jasper fighting tears, “What did they do to you Jasper?” Jasper stopped smiling as he looked at Roxie sadly, “Rox, I told you this is what I wanted already.” Both Stephan and Davon looked at Roxie who didn’t pay them any attention. “Jasper being like this, it’s not natural. It’s wrong.” Jasper shook his head, “Not to me. To me I’ve never felt more like myself.” Looking at Davon, Jasper told him honestly, “I wanted this.” Davon looked at Jasper unsure as he looked between him and Roxie. “And your mom…?” Jasper shrugged confused, “She’s still my mom. You guys are all still my family. Nothing is changing just because I turned. I’m still me.” And it was believed, because weirdly enough, even their wolves were still calm. Even in the presence of the two vampires, all Davon felt was a fatherly concern for his stepson. But not a shred of defense or hostility came from his wolf. Smiling, Davon nodded but Roxie refused to accept this. She shook her head backing up, “No. No, you stay the hell away from the reservation. It’s no place for a vampire. Stay the hell away from me.” Roxie started to storm out but then Jasper was in front of her, “I know you care about me Rox, and I’m sorry. I never meant to hurt you, but this was always going to happen. I love her, and I wanted this.” Roxie met Jasper’s grey eyes as hers burned gold, “You love a monster, and you signed up to become a cold-blooded murderer.” Jasper jerked back at the ice in Roxie’s voice. But Alaia was more offended, “I may be a monster, but I’m a monster with ears and feelings.” Looking at the leech disgusted, Roxie watched Alaia b***h, “If you want to insult me or my mate anymore, you can go.” Roxie growled at Alaia angry, “You let this happen! You did this to him!” Alaia looked at Roxie pissed, “I didn’t. But even if I did, it’s not your business little wolf. How about you head on home.” Roxie felt her wolf clawing to the surface as her entire body buzzed with power. “You don’t tell me what to do.” Roxie growled. Alaia scoffed not even a little afraid, “Oh please little girl. Stay in your training bra before you hurt yourself.” Roxie’s claws came out as she bared her fangs, “Bring it you old bitch.” Roxie and Alaia met head on in a fight. Roxie came in swinging with her claws, but Alaia dodged the wild blows and kicked Roxie sending her flying across the loft. Before she could stand, Alaia had her up by the hair and tossed her painfully against the wall. Stephan and Davon growled as Jasper tried to get them to stop. But both females kept fighting, Roxie threw a punch at Alaia’s face. The loud punch sounded like it should have left Alaia’s face gone. But she didn’t even seem like it hurt as her eyes turned completely red. Grabbing Roxie by the throat, Alaia started to snap her f*****g neck when Jasper stopped her. Holding Alaia’s wrist, Jasper ordered her to drop her, and Alaia did and watched Roxie fall to the floor. Gasping as she held her throat, Roxie glared up at Alaia and as her body started to shift, Stephan ordered her to stop. So Roxie’s wolf had no choice but to obey. Standing on her feet shaking, Roxie hissed, “You see, not so beautiful, is she?” Because in her eyes, Alaia’s true face showed her grotesque nature. With her blue veins showing under her skin, her eyes red, and fangs poking behind her lips, she looked the killer she was. But Jasper stood beside Alaia as he whispered, “She’s always beautiful Roxie.” Roxie looked at Jasper with tears in her eyes. “Jasper-.” She croaked out, but Jasper just turned away from her. Alaia looked at Roxie, her face having returned to normal as she hissed, “He’s chosen.” Roxie sent Alaia a disgusted look and hissed, “You things are a disease. Good people die and are hurt because of you!” Roxie stormed out of the apartment sobbing; Jasper winced as Davon placed a hand on his shoulder. “Call your momma.” Jasper understood and whispered, “Okay.” Davon and Stephan left out and as the door closed behind them, Jasper asked, “What was that?” Alaia didn’t respond so Jasper aspirated, “She’s a kid hyped up on a crush. You didn’t have to fight her and give her a case.” Alaia leaned on a steel column and stared at her mate, her eyes twinged red with anger. “In some people’s eyes, a vampire is guilty just standing still. You’ll come to see that for yourself sooner or later.” Jasper turned and Alaia met his eyes with sadness. “Were you with her?” Jasper froze as shock coursed through him, “What?” Alaia thought a few weeks back, “Christmas break. You went to visit your mom after finding out about what I was. You spent time with her…which is why she’s here questioning our mating.” Shrugging, Alaia implied, “Did you give her a reason to, Jasper?” Jasper didn’t answer. He instead was in front of Alaia in had his hand on her throat.  Not hurting her, but Alaia’s eyes widened as his power seemed to burn through her.  Leaning in closer, Jasper’s eyes seemed to brighten dangerously as he growled, “How dare you.” Kissing her deeply, Alaia panted as Jasper ripped her clothes from her body. Alaia started to undo his belt but he turned her around in a quick motion that made her breathless. Kissing down her back, Jasper’s fangs grazed her skin making her shiver. Jasper stroked deep inside of her and Alaia arched back. But he held her still in a strong grasp. He controlled how they moved and teased her to madness as he punished her for what she had said. Alaia gasped as she ended up sprawled on the floor. Jasper crawled on top of her, and as he pushed into her, he sucked on her neck, left love bites all over her. Lost in pleasure and torture, Alaia felt her body began to tremble as Jasper went harder until she was scratching up the floor. Jasper kissed Alaia softly, and then he had her by the throat again as he whispered, “Ask me something like that again. And you’ll see another side of me, Alaia Knight.” And then Jasper was standing up to go and shower. Alaia laid there disoriented for a while, but she eventually came to her senses. Joining Jasper in the shower, both stood under the hot spray holding each other. Neither said a word, neither had to. They both just knew what was happening. They were changing, something was changing. And for better or worse…they were in it together.
