Late at night, a black armored vehicle pulled up in front of a magnificent building bearing the Blackwood crest—The Sovereign's Retreat. The vehicle door opened, and I stepped out, carrying a drowsy Seraphina in my arms.
Passing the driver's seat, I paused and instructed Captain Joric Shaw, "Go to The Midnight Stag to pick up Talia and take her back to the Blackwood Manor. Have Eliza prepare her chambers."
"Yes, my King," Joric replied.
I carried Seraphina into the luxury hotel. I had originally planned to take her back to the Blackwood Manor but thought it might be inconvenient given her intoxicated state, so I had Joric change direction midway.
