"That Caleb Vern's father, do you know him?" I asked Kaelan as we settled into The Cabin of the Obsidian Phantom.
The sound-proofed interior felt like a sanctuary after the confrontation in the parking garage. I was still processing what had just happened.
Kaelan considered my question thoughtfully. "I don't know Alaric Vern personally, but as a long-time deputy manager at Aegis Dynamics, he would certainly recognize me."
He adjusted his position in the driver's seat, his golden eyes meeting mine. "I inspected that subsidiary a few years ago. It's one of many under Blackwood Dominion Holdings."
