After I finished speaking, the room fell into a brief silence. The weight of my words hung in the air like a heavy fog.
Rhys Donovan was the first to break it, his eyebrows raised skeptically. "Jasper, are you making this up? That sounds too convenient."
Liam Foster nodded in agreement. "Yeah, it's like you're painting yourself as the perfect victim here."
My face flushed with anger and frustration. They didn't believe me. Of course they didn't.
